Morning fedi. I kept messing with my instance the past week, was in that geeky mood. Now my entire domain is transferred to Cloudflare including the DNS records and acting as a proxy for my instance. I tested a little more with the relay functionality too, relay.infosec.exchange is just way too sensitive to any kind of service interruption so I had to abandon it, it kept dropping my instance. I kept rel.re which seems to be reliable and added relay.toot.io . My journey in the #fediverse continues! #relay #GoToSocial #admin

Hallo Mods und Admins. Wir bekommen häufiger englischsprachige Anmeldewünsche, in der der Nick z.B. aus maximal 2 Buchstaben plus 6 Zahlen bestehen (oder Variationen davon). Domain ist gmail und der Text ist nichtssagend. Wir vermuten mögliche Geisterkonten, um später Spam oder ähnliches zu initiieren. Woof.group failed early this morning, around ~02:00 US Central. Service resumed at ~07:20. We've been getting absolutely demolished by LLM scrapers, and even though we now divert ~98% of our traffic into a special tarpit so it doesn't overwhelm our actual services, the logs from that diversion process chewed up all our disk space. I've adjusted the logging and I'm also going to throw more hardware at the problem. #admin

Am Wochenende ist mal wieder #NVME Austausch auf zwei Servern fällig. Die eine hat schon ein paar PB gesehen und beim wear 255% erreicht, also wahrscheinlich den Maximalwert für diese Zahl. Läuft aber noch soweit fehlerfrei, aber habs mal wieder zu lang schleifen gelassen. Läuft in md, also sollte das alles easy gehen, aber es braucht halt schon 3 Stunden oder so, einmal Vorbereiten, dann warten das die Techniker den Tausch durchführen, dann Rescue-Mode, kurz reparieren, dann Reboot. Ich muss ja mit dem Reboot nicht warten bis das Raid komplett ist, oder? #Linux #Admin #MDRaid
