🦦 https://linuxnews.de/lazyjournal-vereinfacht-den-zugriff-auf-log-dateien/ #linux #admin #logdaten #log #tui

The TMode Lisp library is interesting for both its features and its design approach. TMode is a library for creating text-mode user interfaces in Common Lisp. [...] By design it is a zero-dependency library, no ncurses, cffi or anything required. https://codeberg.org/fourier/cl-tmode #CommonLisp #lisp #TUI

Reading about Spiel at the moment and whilst I certainly think we’re living in a golden age of TUI’s (and we mostly have Claude to thank for this) I can’t help but feel we’ve gone a bit too far. Is anyone genuinely asking for PowerPoint in the terminal? #Python #tui

#OpenSource #Flow #NetworkMonitoring #Terminal #TUI #SysAdmin #LinuxTools #TechNews #LinuxEasy

@AmenZwa@mathstodon.xyz @dougmerritt@mathstodon.xyz @vnikolov@ieji.de @kabel42@polymaths.social @raven667@hachyderm.io @mirabilos@toot.mirbsd.org Oh man... I'm using @tut@fosstodon.org limited to certain baud rates using trickle, and it's completely unusable at less than anything but 9600 baud. It redraws every character onscreen several times per refresh. Infuriating. XD Ed, of course, is a gem, even at 300 baud. XD #TUI application developers, please test your programs at forced (low) baud rates! cc: @sjmulder@bsd.network

I live in the terminal. lazygit, yazi, neovim — if it's a nice TUI I'm probably ricing it. I care about privacy, local-first tools, and interfaces that don't get in the way. Currently building enmasec — a password manager where even the metadata is encrypted. No cloud, no telemetry. An open vault shows you nothing but UUIDs. Building in public. More updates soon. #introduction #golang #TUI #opensource #privacy #buildInPublic

BBC News | Higher Europe air fares 'inevitable', says industry head AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Higher ticket prices for European air travelers are “inevitable,” says IATA chief Willie Walsh, who blames soaring jet‑fuel costs tied to the conflict in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. While some airlines have briefly cut fares to boost demand, Walsh warns that airlines cannot absorb the extra expenses and that price hikes will become widespread, possibly lasting into next year. The UK faces particular timing concerns, with fuel demand expected to surge in the summer months, though officials stress there is no immediate shortage and that fuel stocks and alternative supplies are being arranged. The EU has indicated US‑grade jet fuel could be used if managed carefully, and both the government and travel operators such as TUI are monitoring the situation to avoid major disruptions. • desktop launchers (lmk if these dont work on your OS of choice)

Would you like to get more out of bsddialog(3)? BSDCan has a tutorial for that: Introduction to TUI Programming using bsddialog with Benedict Reuschling Thursday 2026-06-18: 13:00 - 16:00 Shell scripts have a bad reputation when it comes to usability and eye candy. Modern users find a blinking cursor on a a black screen leaves a lot to be desired when having to interact with a shell script. In this tutorial, we will create shell scripts that look like a GUI application: with buttons to press, input fields, select boxes and animated progress bars. These so called TUI (text user interfaces) programs still use shell script functionality as the backend, but are lightweight enough to not introduce too much overhead. Users will appreciate the ease of use of your shell scripts and you can rely on them to give you the data and visualizations you to need. At the same time, the TUI application is not difficult to learn and implement into existing scripts. More info: https://www.bsdcan.org/2026/timetable/timetable-Introduction-to-TUI.html #unix #tui #shellscript #runbsd #bsdcan
