Objectively I get it. #Codeberg ban on #cryptocurrency and #LLM assisted. Hopes for higher integrity. But here's the thing. Both are controversial and can have excellent software built. Choice of technology doesn't make bad software. It's how a person uses a technology that provides distinction.

I been waiting for the release of #multigres. A #postgres sharding and connection pooling solution by #supabase. This is low key amazing tech. So many places where it will fit. Predominantly on #cockroachdb market value. 😁

I gotten to learn enough on #graphql to know that implementing involves figuring out your own way to the loose spec. So having a community share for figured out specs is the right move. At least get some conformity in this space. 😅

One of the promising things that has happened with ai agents is that we #CLI now. 😅 #DNSimple product is already well worth it. Now with the CLI, it just makes sense. Not everything needs the api. And these CLI tools make things easier for auth in general. 😎

We live on the weirdest of timelines.

One where #Microsoft Linux distribution is fully accessible, instead of in a small sub-space called "Azure". 😅

#email standards are how to federate widely.

I'm a fan of #JMAP. Extensively versatile protocol. Without the baggage of gotchas from #IMAP. 🫠

But won't be adopted by corps. They already built their custom version on top of IMAP. 😅

Still. Email works. 😎

And... #logseq officially has a split product with db and og. It could work. But honestly.. I'm kind of liking obsidian now. 🫠 Sure it does 0.1 of what logseq can do. At the same, maybe that's ok? 😅 Like if you enrich frontmatter, use tags, and follow #outliner principles, obsidian can do a lot. You don't need an everything tool. Just enough flexibility to shape your needs. 😉 https://logseq.io/page/b2ad9ce1-9cb7-4436-8083-54cb4516d324/df4dc09d-0a12-4c87-904e-22a9bf4c350a

The #canonical #craft ecosystem is interesting. Learning from #nix to produce a concise artifacts.

What makes it different is targets are based on which craft you use. Like if you want an app, then #snapcraft is likely it. But #debcraft is a new one to target debs directly. Or say #imagecraft which creates an os image.

In nix you target all the things with the same language. But I think this approach of target based tooling makes sense as well. 😅

If you use with #qwen36 locally, you got yourself a fully private access to your emails. Benefits of ai without snooping. 😅

So no #Google or ai vendor training on your data. 😎

#canonical #notary is such an elegant solution to #TLS expiration. 😅

Handling distributed TLS expiration is not exactly a solved problem. So many incidents due to it. Even with notary just being an intermediary, worlds better than managing it all. 🫠

So let's get this straight. #cal is moving proprietary because ai is finding bugs. Bugs also can be patched by ai as well. And they think #opensource is the problem?! 🤣

Mind you, ai will STILL find bugs on. 😅 AI is a lot of things, but these excuses are getting ridiculous. 🫠

I totally agree #ai #agents have made it easier to fork open source pieces, make patches, etc.

Doesn't mean you provide slop. 🫠 You still review, design, and make changes maintainable. Agents just make it easier. Especially when it's a repeatable mundane task. 😅

But you may wonder... why not 'just' use the docker-language-server for #hcl? Good question. You see~ if that's done, then I don't get all my terraform files working as intended. But I could simply leave as is. Then using the docker-language-server solely when the file is loaded, but then falling back to switching the language to hcl when I want the rest of the grammar. That's where the annoyance came from. 😅

Without a doubt, I'm "trying to change a lightbulb."

All I wanted was to start up a server. 🫠

I'm now researching creating a grammar for docker-bake. Forking #HCL one. So I can get the #docker bake set up "JUST right" on #helix with docker-language-server. So I can fix the annoyance of #terraform #LSP being used incorrectly. Then refactor a dockerfile. So I can then upload into a registry cleanly.

So I can finally host the darn thing. 🤣

And of course, getting compound interest on the query language. 😅 #obsidian bases build on that query language foundation. Say you are like me. You like to write a review for the day. To offload what you did, remember what you didn't get done, and figure out how to improve. 😎 And say you want to have a weekly review that at least aggregates those notes. Obsidian bases can facilitate just that. 😁 https://obsidian.md/help/bases/syntax

With #obsidian, you should try without community plugins first. It's really hard! The plugins ecosystem is awesome! 😅 Still. I'm finding what used to annoy me of obsidian, simply doesn't anymore. I needed to learn the basics. Like search. It's surprisingly versatile, but you MUST focus on your #frontmatter enrichment. 😉 You do so, and search queues are quite powerful. https://obsidian.md/help/plugins/search

I left #logseq for #obsidian.

The tool continues to work. Yet, I know focus is on database version. Meaning current stable is a bit lacking. 🫠

What's interesting is how difficult finding an outliner as good as logseq. There's really none.

Venturing out isn't THAT bad... Let's see in 3 months. 😅

I don't run #nixos. Yes. I still prefer #ubuntu or #popos. I like the distros and usually deviate their base to be anything anyhow. 😏
