Friday is the 27th annual SysAdmin Appreciation Day, and our Platform Team Lead wrote about the job. The part we like most: the work is invisible on purpose. If you never notice the servers, networks, and DNS your email lives on, that's the whole point. We run all of it in-house, so when something breaks, nobody here waits on hold with a vendor. I think I want to setup a #blog. Probably something static that I can host by just uploading to my #Fastmail file hosting service for now, though I'm open to other options. (I do have a domain I can use. It's mail already goes to Fastmail.) I'd prefer to stay away from Javascript based stuff if possible and I want nothing to do with PHP. Thoughts/recommendations?
