Cinnamon Bear Uncompahgre National Forest, CO I was sitting in my camp chair with my long lens hoping for some pretty birds to pose for photos when I caught movement up the small valley. Very excited when this bear ambled by as I'd only ever gotten brief glimpses while driving. He wasn't very concerned about me, but did look over from time to time as he was foraging along the ground. I got lots of photos, but this was the most "artistic." Only later remembered I could have taken video. D'oh! Cinnamon bear is a subspecies of the American black bear and not aggressive like grizzlies, or nearly as large. #WildlifeWednesday #photo #bear #LichenSubscribe #nature #PublicLands #Colorado

Colorado River in Marble Canyon Kaibab National Forest, AZ [tall photo] No, not the Grand Canyon, but just upstream from there. Great views at the end of a long dusty road. #photo #landscape #canyon #ColoradoRiver #PublicLands #Arizona
