Little Giant fire on the east side of the Cascade Mountains NW’ly of Wenatchee WA.
West wind gusting to 30mph is forecast for tomorrow (Saturday). That will likely push the fire to the top of the ridge above Lake Chelan. I have fond memories of doing trips in this area.

Just in case it helps anyone, the Washington Trails Association trail map has an overlay option where you can see the air quality and wildfires along with the trails' location.
It helps with choosing places to hike without exposure to unnecessary risk.
It's sobering, but helpful.

New instance, new #introduction.
Hello everyone! I’m a meteorologist working at a company that launches #weather balloons. On Mastodon, I toot about #weather, mostly #BCstorm, #WAwx, and #ORwx.
I recently moved from White Rock, B.C. to Hermiston, Oregon and am excited to be back in Oregon and closer to family. Some #geology tidbits will be thrown in along with my thoughts on rural life, family life, and my #LDS faith.
I am an avid geocacher with 3119 finds. I enjoy sharing my exploration and also stats on my #geocache finds.
