  • WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 95 to 110 expected.

  • WHERE...A large portion of southwest California including the coastal ranges and adjacent foothills, as well as the coastal valleys.

  • IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.

Growing signs of prolonged & potentially intense heatwave across SW by early Aug. A broad Four Corners ridge will strengthen far beyond usual levels on its western flank, possibly due in part to indirect effects from a yet-to-develop East Pacific hurricane. Details TBD. #CAwx

#CAwx #SGX #graphicast Extreme Heat Warning is in effect beginning at 10 AM Wednesday for the low deserts and 10 AM Thursday for the high desert. Heat Advisories go into effect at the same time for the Inland Empire, San Diego County valleys, Orange County inland areas, and mountain zones. These hazards will remain in effect through Monday of next week.
