At a rally in Nebraska, Trump invited Iran to "take out Los Angeles and San Diego, it's a small price to pay" San Diego is a major US Naval base. It's the principal homeport of the United States Pacific Fleet. Can we say that this treason yet? To invite a foreign adversary to attack the parts of the USA that Trump doesn't like. " #LosAngeles Mayor Karen Bass blasted Trump’s words as “irresponsible,” saying the remarks “could potentially compromise” the city’s safety. “The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it & encourage attacks on #American lives,”... “Thirteen million Californians call #LA & #SanDiego counties home,” [Xavier] Becerra said. “Their lives are not a ‘small price to pay’ or a punchline for #DonaldTrump.” https://newrepublic.com/post/216247/trump-suggests-let-iran-take-out-los-angeles-san-diego #Trump #Treason #Politics #News #US

The #Tesla Diner has been the site of some of the nation's most artistic protests, ever since Elon inexplicably opened it in occupied #LosAngeles. Obviously, few people go there any more-- the food is as awful as Elon's reputation-- but it sure does draw a protest crowd! What few counter protestors they get these days are the really unhinged ones, as is the case in protests throughout the US. #TeslaTakedown

Journalist Johnny Palmadessa has been documenting daily vandalism of Trump's Hollywood star, lately contrasting it with the heaps of flowers and handmade cards people put on Dolly Parton's star. Oh look! Somebody threw rose petals all over Trump's star! He has at least one fan in LA... oh wait, no he doesn't. #LosAngeles #Trump

Angelenos!

After a successful beta test last week, we are ready to launch the LA Fediverse Meetup on Wednesday Sept 16! Please join us at everywhere, the restaurant/bar at Union Station at/around 5:30 - we'll be there at least until 7:30 (our beta testers stayed until 8).

The beta testers also discovered that some kind of flag or marker would be helpful for gathering (and not bothering too many strangers), so there will be some kind of table tent or sign or some such, probably with a Mastodon logo*. There isn't a home game on Wednesday, so you shouldn't have to wade through too many Dodgers fans.

everywhere is an "order at the bar" kind of place for both food and drink, and there are two lines for service, one on either side of the bar island. Lines seem to move pretty quickly.

One of our beta testers would also like to note that 3 "painkiller" hard seltzers is probably 1 seltzer too many. YMMV, of course. Also, the garlic tots are pretty damn good!

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

So apparently don't plan on traveling in LA during the LA Olympics. Johnny Palmadessa has been out in LA for over months documenting daily vandalism to Trump's Hollywood star. Here's today's! It seems to be silver paint pen instead of human or animal excrement, so it's safe to post today. Dolly's star continues to overflow with flowers and handmade cards. #Trump #LosAngeles
