The allotment today with the frog pond in the foreground. Alliums are starting to flower, giving some nice splashes of colour, and Geum rivale is flowering by the pond. We finally had some rain on Saturday but less than I hoped for, but better than nothing. #allotment #spring #garden

These photos were ready- even alt! about a week ago but I somehow didn't get them posted ( plants + critters season is starting: no chance of keeping up...lol)
Aspen Populus tremuloides starting to flower last week- 1 of the first species along with a few willows. The long catkins with yellow pollen clusters showing are fully open/flowering, but I think they look prettier when not as open, so fuzzier, with the closed pollen sacs showing the red outsides
