Foggy morning at River Bend, heard more birds than I saw and the ones I saw didn’t want their photos taken, except for this male cardinal who escorted another male cardinal out of its territory and then sang loudly, convinced it was inconspicuous. 🇫🇷 C'était un plaisir de retourver la région d'Echternach/Irrel. Cela fait vingt ans que je l'arpente plus ou moins régulièrment. La première partie de la balade était fort fréquentée, il faut dire que le "Teufelschlucht" est une véritable attraction géologique! Et pour une fois, ce sont les petits qui ont l'avantage! La seconde partie était plus calme et la troisième partie avant d'arriver à Echternach, était très différente. 12,77 km au compteur mais un effort équivalent à 17 avec toutes les montées et descentes et les nombreux escaliers! Bref, je vais bien dormir cette nuit, c'est une certitude! Et trains et bus, bien à l'heure, le Grand-Duché, c'est génial pour ça, on va partout facilement et presque gratuitement! Ici, il faudrait payer un billet pour le passage de la frontière à l'aller mais comme j'ai le Deutschland-Ticket, ça ne m'a rien coûté en plus. I have been hiking there more or less regularly since twenty years. The first part of the hike was very busy, it must be said that the "Teufelschlucht" is a real geological attraction! And for once, it's the short ones who have the advantage! The second part was calmer and the third part before arriving in Echternach was very different. 12.77 km but an effort equivalent to 17 with all the climbs and descents and the numerous stairs! In short, I'm going to sleep well tonight, that's for sure! And trains and buses, well on time, the Grand Duchy is great for that, we go everywhere easily and almost for free! Here, you would have to pay for a ticket to cross the border on the way out but as I have the Deutschland-Ticket, it didn't cost me anything extra.
