Is there an open source no-AI password manager out there? Trying to bail on BitWarden... KeePassXC (with SyncThing) seems to come up as the most recommended, but they've been using copilot. Seems like they might still have the strongest anti-ai stance of the available options though, despite that. #PasswordManager #NOAI @fuck_ai

Hopefully, the fixes aren't too far behind. Google Password Manager passkeys could be at risk with new 'Pass-ta-key' attack https://9to5google.com/2026/08/04/google-password-manager-passkeys-could-be-at-risk/ #Google #passwordManager #Passkeys #Vulnerabilities #Security #Tech

Hello #tmobile, just what? If your interface can’t keep up with my password manager’s typing speed, that sounds like your and #delta problem. Not mine. #freeDrinks #passwordManager

Hive Systems published their 2026 password table. The table illustrates the maximum time required to brute force a password based on various lengths and complexities. The most important feature of a password manager isn’t a feature, but trust. Before comparing autofill and passkeys, ask: -Who controls software updates? -Where is the code maintained? -Is the code open source? We built AliasVault around transparency+EU hosting+user control. #foss #passwordmanager #diday

I’m a current @1password@1password.social subscriber, but given my recent difficulties using the application with the #JAWS screen-reader, I thought I’d give @bitwarden@fosstodon.org another shot, but that experience was even worse, due to the number of unlabeled buttons contained within the computer application. To that end, my question is: What’s everyone’s favorite?#Accessible #Cross-platform #PasswordManager that works across #Apple, #Windows & #Linux, specifically #Slint?

What's a good #PasswordManager with cloud sync and #TOTP? I'd happily pay for #Bitwarden Premium if it didn't require 2FA for new sign-ins, which I find completely unacceptable as it means you lose access to your whole online life if you lose your devices and your backup of the recovery code. That's catastrophic for a password manager, and could easily happen for example in a house fire or police raid. #AliasVault does look very promising, but I'm a bit wary of it being a new and unproven solo-developer project. Their #privacy policy doesn't mention to which extent they keep logs. Recommendations? @bitwarden@fosstodon.org @aliasvault@mastodon.social

WTAF?! Getting locked out of your cloud-based password manager would be really quite inconvenient. Being locked out of it by the provider because of actions taken by an adversarial actor against your account would be rather worse! If you haven't, then please consider your backup plan for if you ever get locked out of the one service that lets you into for all intents and purposes everything else. Do you even have a current backup? https://www.theregister.com/security/2026/06/01/password-manager-dashlane-suspends-customer-accounts-amid-brute-force-attacks/5248991 #infosec #Dashlane #PasswordManager
