Just setup my new AirPlay speakers and tried to choose them as sound device. Apparently that is not possible when the device is in Lockdown mode. I have recently taken a hard look at migrating away from my Lenovo i7 Win11 laptop to a #macbook Pro for my main productivity workhorse. While there are some great reasons to stick with My ASUS i9 laptop (gaming), there are at least for me some very compelling reasons to shift to a Mac for my daily driver. Having said that, one of the main reasons I haven’t made the switch involves my apprehension over how a potential migration of my #obsidian environment will shake out. I do use Obsidian Sync, so in theory the data should be taken care of but I use a commerally available system of customizations that I would hate to have to reconfigure from scratch. As it is, a simple host to host transfer of my Obsidian environment scares me, but cross-platform and potential additional complexity adds hesitancy. Bawk bawk. <- me

Serious question: Do I know anyone who's worked on the innards of an old MacBook? My 2012 machine's keyboard (and headphone jack) isn't working properly anymore. I'd love to keep this machine working, but we don't have a repair cafe and I am very reluctant to pay the local "official" shop $100/hour, since I don't know how extensive the repair will be. I figure if I can install an electric water heater and make jewelry I should be able do that work if I get the right guidance on how the device works. I may be overly optimistic here, but I am so sick of being under the boot of capitalism. #MacBook #RightToRepair
