And NO, #Signal is not a solution, it is also centralized and totally dependent in #Amazon and other US infrastructure, US could literally just take it away from Europe or any target country due to "sanctions" over any political conflict, so it is extremely lame when some #European initiatives goes around talking about "digital independence" and then the workshop is about how to move from #WhatsApp to #Signal 🙄🤦♂️

WhatsApp gehört zu Meta – einem Konzern, der von Daten lebt. Zwar verschlüsselt WhatsApp Nachrichteninhalte, aber Metadaten laufen trotzdem mit: Wer wann mit wem schreibt, wie oft, aus welchem Netz. Das sind oft aussagekräftigere Daten als der Chat selbst.
Die Alternative für den Alltag: Signal. Ende-zu-Ende-verschlüsselt, kaum Metadaten, kein Werbemodell, quelloffen – und groß genug, dass du damit auch wirklich jemanden erreichst. Ein Messenger bringt dir nichts, wenn ihn niemand aus deinem Umfeld nutzt. Bei Signal ist die Chance hoch, dass deine Kontakte mitmachen.
