Why Erich Mühsam?
I think anarchy as a social order is truly conceivable for the first time in human history.
Anarchy is not chaos. In ancient thought, when the word originated in Greece, it simply stood for the absence of culture and society. In other words, ultimately, the law of the strongest.
It wasn’t until much later, in the 19th century, that there was a genuine scholarly examination of a truly hierarchy-free order. Throughout human history, self-determined #communities have appeared time and again. Thanks to #international networking and the open-source movement, it’s becoming possible to act locally while still scaling internationally. The Federation has impressively demonstrated this. This has never before been possible in human history.
Anarchy is the most mature and virtuous of all orders. An order that also makes room for evil. You cannot defeat evil; you must assign it a place. A perspective beyond good and evil. It is no mere coincidence that Aleister Crowley, of all people, summed things up correctly.
“There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt. Love is the law, love under will.”
This is not chaos; this is not arbitrariness. This is the great challenge of our time. Neither techno-feudalism nor state socialism is up to the challenge of the future, nor is either even remotely desirable. And capitalism, which for centuries sold itself as “freedom,” is nothing but accumulation, hierarchy, and injustice. So we don’t have much of a choice anyway—let’s give it a try.

Oooh, neat -- @Bonfire has officially released its #Communities module: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/bonfire-for-communities/
I backed the project, and I'm overjoyed to see it coming to fruition. The world *desperately* needs a good open-source, open-network, open-community alternative to enshittified monstrosities like Facebook, and #Bonfire is the first one I've seen that appears to check pretty much all the boxes of "how to do it right". It's impressively complete.
(Might force me to get off my ass and stand up my own server, so I can start hosting some of the communities I'm involved with.)
And yes, yes, Discord -- I use it a lot, but it's still corporate, still likely to enshittify, and really only covers a fraction of the Community use cases. This looks better.
So check it out -- I think it's an important project, that a lot of groups could probably benefit from...

The UK government is crumbling. The minister resigns and asks Starmer to step down: “Let’s move forward.”
Following the Labour Party’s defeat in the recent local elections, the British government is crumbling. Communities Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh has resigned and asked Prime Minister Keir Starmer to do the same. In a letter shared on the platform, the minister says she is proud of what has been achieved so far, while acknowledging that she has not “acted with the vision, the pace and the ambition that our mandate for change demands.” For Fahnbulleh, the country “faces enormous challenges and the public is demanding change of such magnitude” and, referring to Starmer, she said: “Public opinion does not believe you can lead this change, and neither do I. Therefore, I urge you to do what is right for the country and for the party and to establish a timetable for a smooth transition, so that a new team can deliver the change we promised the country.”
However, from Downing Street the response is no. “The Labour Party has a process for challenging a leader and this has not been activated - says Starmer - The country expects us to continue governing. That is what I am doing and what we must do as a government.” No backing down, then. Starmer takes responsibility for “these election results and to deliver the promised change.”
To trigger the leadership change process within the party, a Member of Parliament must first communicate to the National Executive Committee their intention to challenge. Following this, they can begin to gather formal support: to achieve an electoral contest, 20% of the Labour group would need to back them. At that point, the incumbent leader would automatically be included in the list of candidates. The British broadcaster Sky News explains that, while 78 MPs have publicly asked for Starmer’s resignation, these requests do not activate any mechanism within the party to initiate a competition.

It is unfortunate that #war and #agendas wait for nobody, especially when you least expect an unrelated issue to effect certain #communities. Of whom I have nothing but #respect for as a whole. ...#protesting is an awesome start, but i think the best silent #protest would be all #communities showing up for each other instead of showing up to work (even instead of showing up in the streets or encamping on the empires lawns)
...imagine, the sudden appearance of ghost towns: no shoppers, no workers, no traffic...instead mass gatherings in unexpected places to share #food, clothing, warmth and to nurture and uplift one another...
