I'm currently on holiday with @PrinceMumbles@mastodonapp.uk and have been enjoying spending some time here in Scotland, though did entirely forget that Scotland unlike everywhere else in the UK does not in fact have Sunday trading laws so the shops are actually open "Normal times" today. While I don't know if I want to actually get rid of Sunday trading laws elsewhere (As having worked in retail knowing you at least get the Sunday late afternoon / evening off is nice) but it is weird being somewhere in the UK and seeing people leaving supermarkets at 7:30pm on a Sunday! #Scotland #SundayTrading #UKLaw

Dopo avere attaccato più volte Italia e Spagna nelle ultime ore per il loro mancato sostegno alla guerra contro l’Iran, il presidente Usa ha deciso di alzare i dazi per le auto europee al 25%, che finora erano al 15%. La decisione – che entrerà in vigore da lunedì 4 maggio – fa infuriare Bruxelles, che reagisce per voce del presidente della commissione commercio internazionale del Parlamento europeo, Bernd Lange. “Il piano di Trump di imporre dazi del 25% sulle auto dell’Ue è inaccettabile” e dimostra che gli Stati Uniti sono un partner “inaffidabile”. “Il Parlamento europeo – ha proseguito – continua a rispettare l’accordo siglato in Scozia, lavorando per finalizzare la legislazione. Mentre l’Ue mantiene gli impegni, la controparte statunitense continua a non rispettarli”, sottolinea il tedesco in un post su X, aggiungendo che “l’Ue deve ora mantenere chiarezza e fermezza”. L’annuncio di Trump – “Sono lieto di annunciare che, in considerazione del fatto che l’Unione Europea non sta rispettando il nostro accordo commerciale, pienamente concordato, la prossima settimana aumenterò i dazi applicati all’Unione Europea su automobili e autocarri in ingresso negli Stati Uniti. Il dazio sarà innalzato al 25%”, ha detto il presidente sul suo social Truth. And especially where the names are vastly different (like Dingwall on the mainland is Inbhir Pheofharain) which is the most used? Are some areas vastly different?
