'E Clips March 2015, and a frustrating morning spent trying to image the partial eclipse from our home in Fife. I had a small success with a kitchen colander, but nothing I tried gave me a satisfying result. I went upstairs for a break and walked into my bedroom, where a crystal was hanging in the window. Spread across the bedroom wall were lovely rainbow crescents, dozens of them. For tomorrow, I have my telescope with a solar filter, so no worries! #eclipse #Scotland #Photography

The Atmosphere of My High School Exams in Gaza. ❗ Last year, I finished high school amid war, displacement, famine, and bombardment. During a ceasefire, my school held in-person exams to ensure fair results. I contracted Hepatitis A during the exam period, yet still graduated with 98%, ranking among the highest-performing students across Palestinian Al-Azhar Institutes and earning the highest Physics mark in Gaza that year. 269 years ago today. Thomas Telford, the civil engineer whose works transformed Scotland and had a huge impact elsewhere, was born near Westerkirk in Dumfries-shire on 9 August 1757. “Colorful Buildings, Portree, Scotland” — Colorful Portree waterfront building and reflections, Isle of Skye. Just a few days after sharing a post in which I mentioned that I photograph a lot of subjects that are not icons… here is a photograph of an icon!
