Recently I needed to quickly edit a picture to remove a few bits. So I fired up Paint on my windows machine to do that. Reader, did you know that Paint now has AI features? And like my experience with AI everywhere it's shit at its job. The only thing I wanted to do was erase some stuff, but the erase function is now "generative erase", meaning it spent about 5-10 seconds thinking on how to erase things AND THEN DIDN'T ERASE ALL OF IT. #ai #fuckai #microslop

For my sins, I still have a Microsoft Surface (Win 11, local account, mostly offline) to rip Blu-rays. And - jeez - it's so slow compared to five years ago when it was my main computer. I daily drive Linux Mint now but I'm so sorry for the rest of you on Windows 11. I don't think any organization of any size can do accurate risk analysis on 570 AI Slop vulnerabilities ('cause that's what they are). Nor can any organization risk downtime from immediately installing vibe coded patches that will break something without patching first. The best time to ditch #microslop was yesterday. A good time to ditch #microsoft is today.

Copilot analyst was good at taking large datasets and producing results that I could then spot verify. Now with the latest updates copilot analyst either doesn’t work very well or locks up entirely. Man this tech enshitiffies fast. #microslop
