If you're going to bash the competition, at least be honest about it. @simplex@mastodon.social I can't speak to the other points here, but Session does have message padding, though only for attachments up to 10 MB. This is highlighted in section 6.2 of their whitepaper, which is linked on the first page of their website; they also mentioned it in multiple interviews. So they deserve a yellow check mark. This is achieved by first padding each attachment to fit within a fixed number of constant sizes between 0 and 10 megabytes, then encrypting the attachment with a random symmetric AES key. It should be a no-brainer to read the whitepaper of the competition before making any claims about them. I'm happy to be proven wrong. #SimpleX came close, however it was let down by several factors (some may have changed since):

  • is funded by Jack Dorsey of Twitter (big red flag),
  • issues with group messages arriving out of order or not at all, and getting de-sync'd
  • is written in Haskell so harder to contribute or write bots for
  • is a memory hog on both mobile and desktop
  • poor UX including onboarding (private routing? incognito mode?)
  • poor multi-device support (must have mobile app running to use desktop)

#molly, un fork de l'application #signal parvient désormais à échanger des messages en étant encore plus lent que l'email... En plus de nous imposer la #surveillance de la #bigtech, #signal oeuvre pour limiter les autres applications sur les serveurs loués à #amazon ! Certes la sécurité c'est bien, mais à ce prix non... Bien sûr des alternatives existent : je conseille #DeltaChat pour la famille et les amis et #simplex pour les trucs plus militants...

No olviden usar #session y #simplex para evadir #chatcontrol y no usen whatsapp y signal. Session y simplex no requiere de registros telefónicos y de correos, ya que los hace muy seguro y no cuentan con servidores y es conocimiento cero. Para crear cuentas de mastodon haganlo desde la red #tor (no en la red superficial), si cuentan con una cuenta actual hagan una segunda cuenta desde la red tor con otro perfil, y si van a crear una cuenta de mastodon haganlo con un alias de correo
