@anna_lillith@mas.to The problem is not the YouTube guy. The problem is that people will vote for the guy who saw the YouTube video. And this is the problem we need to solve in order to save mankind

An Open Letter Opposing Android Developer Verification | F-Droid
https://f-droid.org/en/2026/02/24/open-letter-opposing-developer-verification.html
More than 75% of software I run on my phone is FOSS from the fdroid store. Google will not be able to enforce their policy on me because I run #grapheneos, however the FOSS ecosystem will die. Maybe the time is right to accelerate vanilla Linux on mobile phones. Looking at #postmarketos

@CoolSWEng@mastodon.acm.org Indeed, ls.c makes extensive use of printf, so it was available. This suggests that the code in cp.c, and its conf function which converts integers to strings, is even older or its author was not familiar with printf yet. It could also be that they didn't want to include the library in the cp utility. I'm not sure but I guess everything was statically linked back then?

@CoolSWEng@mastodon.acm.org That is awesome! The conf function in cp.c is fascinating. Didn't they have printf back then?
