I've been saying this too. I'm forced to monitor my water usage however I saw a golf course spraying water on the golf course when it was 107 degrees at 2pm in Palm springs.
The sprinkler ran for 10 minutes! And they did it multiple days in a row!

I was talking with a recruiter about my fear of the token machine suddenly raising it's costs 2 or 3x and he said, "why would they do that? They are already making a lot of money!" My response was to tell him the companies are still losing a lot of money and eventually they will need to turn a profit. He said "I don't see that happening!" I don't think I will make it to the next round of the interview.

Most of the places I am applying for require some form of LLM work. Either for prototype or building a tool. Also need to explain what you have built during the interview.
It sucks but it's required now. In a few years probably not but it's here and companies "don't want to be left behind"
