For the Opt Green project we have a demo machine old enough to have graduated from college. I found it works best running Haiku OS.

We tried to think of specific use cases and install software for those use cases.

Two examples:

- A child's first computer: GCompris educational software

- Writers who want a distraction free computer: Texteditors (Calligra Words, LibreOffice Writer, AbiWord, Ghostwriter markdown editor)
