In 1993 Brenda and Wanda Henson bought land outside Ovett, Mississippi, and opened a feminist, lesbian-run retreat and food bank in a county that made its feelings clear immediately. Somebody left a dead dog on their mailbox. They didn't leave. They ran the pantry. They kept the gate open, and over years the temperature around them changed — which is the least dramatic and most difficult kind of victory there is. Nobody photographs the long middle. 🚨 Heads up! When conservatives say “save the children”, there is very often a rather important asterisk hiding behind it: Save the “real”™ children. The moment a child is trans, queer, gender-nonconforming, neurodivergent, different, "difficult", inconvenient, or simply fails to fit neatly into their little picture of what a child should be, suddenly the concern for children and their rights can disappear remarkably quickly. And worse: the very people screaming loudest about “protecting children” can become some of the biggest threats to those children’s safety, dignity, autonomy and wellbeing. Because apparently the child is precious right up until the child becomes a person. (Remember there are still people who think children are basically property!) Children need to be protected from people who want to harm them, shame them, hurt them, indoctrinate them, or force them into becoming someone they are not. Children aren't projects to be fixed or moulded to fit somebody else's ideology. They deserve to grow up safe, loved, and free to discover who they are, knowing that they are already good, already wonderful, and worthy of being exactly who they are. #ProtectAllChildren #TransKidsAreKids #QueerKids #LGBTQIA #TransRights #ChildrensRights #DontEraseUs

There is a reason I take the endless stream of anti-queer slurs, lies and accusations seriously. Stochastic terrorism is when people in positions of influence repeatedly spread hateful or dehumanising rhetoric about a group, creating an environment in which violence against members of that group becomes more likely - even if they never explicitly tell anyone to attack. And yes, this can and does include state actors. Calling queer people “groomers”, “predators”, “degenerates”, “child abusers”, or some other invented monstrosity is not merely “words”. When those accusations are repeated often enough, they manufacture a target. They tell the public who supposedly deserves suspicion, hatred and punishment. Words become permission. Permission becomes action. That is why “it was just a slur” is such a grotesquely inadequate defence. A lie repeated often enough can become a weapon. And when powerful people keep handing that weapon to an angry crowd, pretending not to know what might happen next is simply dishonest. Just two examples of what I am dealing with on that other “social” network I sadly need to be a member of. This is gay people trying to eradicate trans people from queer history — while apparently also appointing themselves the Supreme Court of what “normal-looking” gay men and lesbians are. 🙄 And yes, history has an ugly little lesson here. In the Weimar Republic, there were gay men who were deeply attracted to nationalist and later Nazi ideology, including people who were quite happy to distinguish themselves from the “wrong sort” of queer people. Respectability, conformity and throwing other queer people under the bus did not make them safe. It did not save them. So when I see queer people trying to scrub trans people out of Stonewall, Pride and the history of our liberation, I pay attention. Because this isn't merely about the past. They want to erase us from history because they want to erase us from reality. And finally, can we talk about the “kiddo”, “child”, “babe” routine? A grown man disagreeing with a grown person and immediately reaching for infantilising language to establish dominance is not exactly a revolutionary new contribution to human civilisation. Hundreds of signs, and not one of them printed. Ordinary Minnesotans paid for their own tickets, sat at their own kitchen tables with markers out of a junk drawer, and made posters. No organization convened them. Nobody bused them in. The noise carried through the entire game. Three feet from all of it, a head coach with a roster to hold together wore four words in front of twenty thousand people and then said the plain accurate sentence into a hallway full of reporters. None of that was brave in a cinematic way. A shirt. A marker. A document filed. A man saying I was wrong into a microphone. A basketball coach with a roster, a front office, and a job to protect walked into the loudest night of the WNBA's season wearing four words: Trans Kids Belong. Then she stood in a hallway and told reporters flat that the innuendo about trans women being predators is simply not what is happening. Sandy Ernest Allen drove across the Catskills this year looking for Casa Susanna, the guesthouse where transfeminine people gathered through the '50s and '60s for twenty-five dollars a weekend. He found new construction. Hedges in burlap where the old trees stood. No plaque of any kind. What he had instead was his own living room, full of trans and queer neighbors eating cookies — gatherings he started after the 2025 inauguration for no better reason than that people needed somewhere to be. The house was the smaller half. The gathering is the part that survived, and it survived by being taken apart and rebuilt in a different county by a man who never met her and knew her only from photographs somebody found at a flea market. Terf’s are really, really afraid we might see and read this major report. It documents UK based anti-trans critical organizations and their funding. They were able to force the worlds biggest human rights organizations to pull their report down within hours from it’s release, that’s how much they don’t want the world to know. Here it is. Amnesty International UK hat einen Report zurück gezogen allein weil JK Rowling mit der Unterstützung von Klagen gedroht hatte. Der Report hatte u.a. anti-transgender Gruppen in Großbritannien als "anti-rights" also "gegen [Bürger-/Menschen-]Rechte" bezeichnet und diese als Beispiel für einen besorgniserregenden Trend von Gruppen, die sich gegen Menschen- und Bürgerrechte einsetzen, genannt. Der Artikel von "Erin In The Morning" sagt sinngemäß in der Unterzeile: "Die Organisation, die sich schon mit Diktatoren und Todeskommandos angelegt hat, knickt ein vor JK Rowling und den Anti-Redefreiheit Gesetzen von Großbritannien." Laut EITM hat Amnesty International UK den ganzen Report zurück gezogen und sich für die Bezeichnung entschuldigt. Auf Fakten-Ebene gab es aber keine Korrekturen und keinen Widerruf oder Richtigstellung. (weil derzeit keine Fehler bekannt sind). Wenn Milliardäre solch eine Macht haben, dass selbst Organisationen wie Amnesty International Angst bekommen - dann betrifft uns das alle. (Großbritannien ist bekannt für sogenannte SLAPP lawsuits. Mit genug Geld kann man dort fast jede*n Kritiker*in durch Verleumdungsklagen in den Ruin treiben - egal ob man am Ende gewinnt oder verliert. Die Beweislast liegt zudem bei den Angeklagten.
