"Tell your MP: Canadians can’t afford another risky pipeline & tanker project" Despite promises that a new west coast pipeline would be funded by the private sector, Mark Carney & Danielle Smith want to spend tens of billions of taxpayer dollars on it, without letting Canadians have a say in the decision. Instead of spending that money on the actual challenges Canadians are facing -- housing, hospital wait times, grocery prices and clean drinking water on Indigenous reserves, to name a few -- our federal government is bailing out the oil industry again, even as Canada is dealing with floods, heat waves, wildfires and extreme weather. Mark Carney says Canada cannot afford to meet its climate targets. Humanity is committing suicide, tech bros aren't going to survive in their bunkers (b/c starving people will dig them out), but far, far in the future, aliens might find this planet. Or cockroaches will evolve intelligence. One of those. Some *light* reading -- history and prophecy... I read #FrankWaters "#TheBookOfTheHopi" many years ago, but misplaced my old copy. Refreshing myself on #HopiProphecy and what it all means for the times we are living in. #EricCline's "#1177BC" has been a good read. I'm finding his chapter about a "perfect storm of calamities" to be relevant to the age we are living in now, especially with regard to #ClimateCrisis and #Polycrisis. Graeber/Wengrow's "#TheDawnOfEverything" has taken me a while to get through... So much to take in. Learning about power and systems of power and their origins.
