B) is a "you" problem on their part and chaining oneself to proprietary crap will be their downfall. And going with #Motorola which produces a fuckton of #EoL'd devices out of the gate and refuses to comply with @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu 's #RightToRepair is not inspiring confidence in #GrapheneOS to me. But hey, a concrete-headed & abrasive maintainer is running it into the ground… #sarcasm #commentary

@SomeGadgetGuy@techhub.social Been using the OnePlus 13 since launch and most of my family is on OnePlus, sad to see them leave. The competition situation is unfortunately not any better here in Canada either but even though the idea of importing an overseas model seems tempting, carriers have been known to do shitty things which can cause VoLTE/5G connectivity issues for devices not meant for the Canada/US market. The idea that it's mainly Apple, Google and Samsung being the real alternative kinda sucks but here we are. Yes I know Motorola and Nothing exists but Motorola is mainly budget tier and even their higher end stuff has weak update policies. Nothing is just very niche, who knows how long they'd last as well. Motorola zawiązuje partnerstwo z GrapheneOS Foundation

Motorola na tegorocznej konferencji Mobile World Congress ogłosiła partnerstwo z GrapheneOS Foundation, celem dostarczenia – jak to określiła w notatce prasowej – „przełomowego poziomu bezpieczeństwa”. – We współpracy z GrapheneOS Foundation będziemy pracować nad tym, żeby wzmocnić bezpieczeństwo [użytkowników] smartfonów oraz opracowywać nowe modele urządzeń, które współpracują z systemem GrapheneOS – możemy przeczytać dalej. GrapheneOS jest tzw. „custom ROM-em”, czyli modyfikacją Androida. System ten jest określany mianem „prywatnego i bezpiecznego” przez jego twórców. Do momentu zawiązania współpracy z Motorolą, był on dostępny jedynie na telefony Google Pixel. Zdaniem twórców GrapheneOS telefony z tej serii były „jedynymi” modelami spełniającymi „wymagania bezpieczeństwa”, niemniej zniechęcało to niektóre osoby do skorzystania z systemu. Pod koniec stycznia 2026 roku w serwisie X administratorzy profilu GrapheneOS stwierdzili, że Motorola „nie spełnia wymagań [stawianych producentom telefonów]”, jednak „jest coraz bliżej osiągnięcia celu”. Na ten moment nie wiadomo, kiedy Motorola wyda pierwszy model spełniający standardy bezpieczeństwa systemu GrapheneOS. GrapheneOS i Motorola Motorola na targach Mobile World Congress 2026 oficjalnie ogłosiła partnerstwo z GrapheneOS. To bardzo istotna wiadomość, ponieważ do tej pory system ten dostępny był tylko na urządzenia produkowane przez Google. Ponadto w przypadku Pixeli trzeba odblokować bootloader i wgrać system samodzielnie. Dzięki współpracy GrapheneOS z Motorolą otrzymamy gotowe smartfony bazujące na chipie Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 z preinstalowanym systemem GrapheneOS.
