💁🏻‍♀️ NEW: ⚡🧲 #Cambridge #math professor Hannah Fry demonstrates how to build a simple electric #motor using a #battery, #copper wire, #magnets, and paper clips. Winding wire into a coil creates an electromagnet that repels and attracts the magnet beneath, forcing the coil to spin. 👉 Learn more: https://seethis.tv/post/how-to-make-an-electric-motor-video #activities #diy #electricity #howto #metal #physics #science #technology #tech #magnetism #engineering #diy #experiment #electromagnets #tksst #video

Ohhhhh so I rediscovered this page in the companion app to my battery, where they attempt to summarize the energy in, out, etc over the lifetime of this product while in my care It seems that I have avoided drawing 127 kWh from the grid so far (1 year-ish) That’s a grand saving of… €19! (This is a €600 product that will probably not last another 5 years) To be fair, I knew this going in. It wasn’t an investment to save money but to learn about my house and my usage patterns. #solar #battery #EcoFlow

chat do any of you need lenovo thinkpad L14 parts ? pay what you want, shipping in EU, crypto payments ok too ill js keep them for myself if not, i already took the wifi card, the iwlwifi card is not an official thinkpad L14 part posting cuz someone may save like idk 50 eur from official sources, everything is working except i think the iGPU from the motherboard no refunds outside of lithuania, too much hassle internationally #pcparts #laptopparts #thinkpad #thinkpadparts #lenovo #hardware #nvme #ram #battery #selling #saving

#SolarUpdate We ran out of battery power overnight, for the first time since the 4th April 2026. We have spent 16 weeks off grid. In that entire time, we have imported just 60.1kwh of electric. That's an average of 0.5kwh per day or roughly 14p worth of electric. But we still pay 70p per day in the standing charge for electric. The standing charge is 5 times more expensive than the electric we are using at the moment. Despite all of that, it's actually been a poor year for solar compared to last year. With generation actually being down by 10-15%... Heatwaves and perfectly clear skies, are not actually good for solar generation because the heat reduces the efficiency of the solar panels. We should have produced in the region of 680-700kwh a month for May & June based on the number of clear sky days. Instead we generated 550ish. Instead of generating 28-29kwh per day, we were generating 23-24kwh. But that 22-24kwh per day has been more consistent. With the avg per day for July being 21kwh, vs 18.8kwh for May and 18.3kwh for June. We didn't use more, but we did export a little more. #Solar #Battery #GoingGreen

Good news, web developers: you no longer need fancy animations and 8k video backgrounds just to drain your users’ batteries. Battery Drainer cuts out the middleman. No visuals, no crypto mining, no useful work required. Just pure depletion. https://github.com/asciimoo/battery-drainer #webdev #frontend #satire #battery

Installing #solar 1 house at a time leaves a lot of value on the table. What if neighbours planned together? How about #Ottawa & specifically #Centretown

  • Shared buying power
  • Lower costs
  • Better #battery options
  • More resilient communities
  • Less #CO2

So I’m testing out #Ubuntu2604LTS on an intel #thinkpad T14 gen 4 and the standby battery life is atrocious. Went to bed around 10pm, closed the lid and when I woke up in the morning it was completely dead. Am I missing something. I thought newer kernels handled sleep and power settings better? This is borderline unusable. #linux #battery #standby #ubuntu

#Battery and #repair nerds, need help finding the correct(ish) battery for a device. It's a mini Digital TV that was made like 10+ years ago and still works fine, but the battery is shot and doesn't hold a charge. I sort of know how to read one of these batteries, but am having a hard time finding an exact match. It doesn't need to be EXACTLY the same, in fact I'd be fine with a much larger capacity battery, as long as it fits inside the compartment on the tv - and is the correct polarity, because a lot of the ones I am seeing have the red and black wires in the opposite configuration and I don't have the manual dexterity to re-wire one of these anymore. Amazon, AliExpress, wherever, can anybody match something up to this? #Electronics
