Without elephant dung to eat, dung #beetle populations collapsed, resulting in 23% fewer species and 67% fewer individuals. I've been thinking all week about the work that @kandid@chaos.social published last week. The spiral is particularly fetching. I want it to see it rotating and tried animating it, but it turns out that the barber-pole illusion makes it very difficult.
