I thought I saw an unusual bee in the garden today, but on closer inspection, it was not a bee at all!
This is the snowberry clearwing, a moth in bee drag. It’s also called the bumblebee moth, the hummingbird moth, or (my favourite) the flying lobster.
I imagine that looking like a bee might deter hungry birds.

I liked doing this one, even if videoing it was challenging (mainly due to lack of experience and kit). Limiting my colour palette is more necessary for the medium, but also a fun exercise when you make it all the "wrong" colours, lol.

Living on an old farm in rural #Lithuania, fixing it up in the hope of having found a place to call home. Used to live on a sailboat, cruising Med & Atlantic while repairing the boat. Pulled some radishes for a snack. While we also had many failures in the garden, these radishes were an amazing success. We kept the seeds from plants that bolted last year and unlike the ones from the supermarket seed pack, these germinated like crazy and grew densely packed to decent size.
Definitely going to keep seeds again from these!
