For sure I am confused, weather forecast is also another problem 😔 People tell me why they are not taking action to my posts, tell me if I am posting unwanted calls and you tell me what you want because I am sad 😢 #todayspoem #tomatoes #gardens #permaculture #naturephotography

🇫🇷 Aux pieds du château d'Andernach et des murs d'enceintes historique, on trouve un jardin de fruits et légumes et il est autorisé de cueillir, c'est le principe de la ville comestible. Something that was unveiled at RHS Sandringham by Harkness Roses for this week's cheerful flower. Sales will raise money for the National Garden Scheme. U.S. peeps……what are some public #gardens that you think are slept on/overlooked? I’ll say Green Spring Gardens Horticultural Center near Lincolnia in northern #Virginia and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens northwest of Tysons. Both have a variety of garden types, including pollinator/wildflower gardens! Well worth a visit if you’re up in that part of Virginia at some point!

So, I ended up emptying both our rainbarrels during a dry spell (110 gallons of water), using the water for not only my home garden, but my community garden plot as well. After a heavy, but brief, rainstorm this week, both barrels are full again. #Rainbarrels help prevent water from overflowing storm drain systems and they provide water during droughts. Make sure you use a tight screen to keep mosquitoes out (I replaced the screens that came with my rainbarrels, and I don't even have to use Bt now). The Case for Rain Barrels By Felicia Hokenstad, May 7, 2026 "As #ClimateChange continues to impact our weather patterns, the preservation and efficient use of water resources have become pressing issues for many communities. One innovative solution that is gaining traction is the rain barrel. These straightforward tools not only help us conserve water but also alleviate the burden on our #stormwater systems. A rain barrel is essentially a tank for collecting and storing rainwater from roof downspouts, typically holding around 55 gallons. By capturing this valuable resource, residents can reuse it for watering #gardens, landscaping, and other non-potable needs. This practice has multiple benefits: it reduces #reliance on municipal water [or well water], provides naturally soft rainwater—which is gentler on plants than treated tap water—and lessens stormwater runoff that can contribute to flooding and streambank erosion." RHS Guide To Mulches And Mulching "Mulching is generally used to save water, suppress weeds and improve the soil around plants but it also gives your garden a neat, tidy appearance and can reduce the amount of time spent on tasks such as watering and weeding. Mulches help soil retain moisture in summer, rain to penetrate the soil in winter, prevent weeds from growing and protect the roots of plants in winter." https://www.rhs.org.uk/soil-composts-mulches/mulch #SolarPunkSunday #Gardening #RHS #Mulches #Mulching #Gardens

Got beans? My turn to cook tonight so I checked the plants and found just enough to include on today’s menu. The timing of the bean harvest starting now is perfect since we are working on the last quart bag of frozen beans from last year’s garden. #Gardens #Gardening #GrowYourOwn #PNW

If you want an idea of how out of nowhere that downpour was, I took this shit butterfly photo about five minutes before my previous post. It's the tiniest butterfly I've ever seen - no more than a centimetre across :moomin_butterfly: ❤️ #ShitButterflyPhoto #Gardens
