Team activities on August 5, 2026. 1. Harvest and wash elderberries in the pleasant conditions. 2. Observe a variety of pollinators on the native plants, the painted lady butterflies are numerous. 3. Plant more native plant starts as the existing plants bloom. It’s rewarding to add diversity to the habitat as the existing native plants are feeding pollinators. #threegoodthings, #minnesota, #nativeplants, #pollinators, #rewilding, #Zone4b

The hollow joe-pyes (Eutrochium fistulosum) are super popular right now. Lots of bees and butterflies. This monarch feasted all day Saturday. #NativePlants #pollinators #gardening

The first pic shows the shadow of a head-down bee through the leaf of a cup plant (Silphium perfoliatum). As the name describes, the leaves attach completely around the stem, creating a large rain-holding cup on this large plant. I wonder if this aids flying creatures and thwarts walking ones? We haven't had rain for a while, and I leave water saucers out but maybe I'll fill some of these natural pockets too. #NativePlants #NorthernIllinois #gardening #pollinators

Coneflower http://coneflower.garden now requires no email address or location to start logging plants and learning! Created as a free tool to better understand the interactions and track conditions going on within my own garden (as a burnt out tech engineer and native plant lover). Wanted to extend the reference tool to help other gardeners who want to conserve local biodiversity. Appreciate the feedback so far! #gardening #nativeplants #permaculture #pollinators #biodiversity

#theBeeAt3 Basic bee facts every day at 3pm. 4. At least 1 in 3 species of bee in Ireland are endangered/threatened with extinction. Ponder that. Gone. Forever. Extinct. ‘Humans regard animals as worthy of protection only when they are on the edge of extinction.’ #bees #nature #wildlife #bumblebees #thistle #flowers #environment #worldbeesanctuary #education #science #extinction #pollinators

Yet another fritillary on the Butterfly Weed, along with a friendly bumblebee. We've been getting exclusively Great Spangled Fritillaries, large #butterflies with silver spots on the underside of the hindwings. They seem to be doing well because the last couple of summers we've had lots of them. #pollinators #naturephotography #ecology #nature #flowers #plants #biodiversity #biology #insects

Ox-eye daisies are invasive here and I generally mow them- I let one patch reach full flower just for fun, and many pollinators do love them (I'll chop/pull before they seed). Here it is visited by a Leafcutter Bee- always fun to see these little folk. #bees #NativeBees #garden #BloomScrolling #florespondence #pollinators #insects #inverts #flowers #weeds #nature #GetOutside #summer
