I mainly post pictures of my #allotments which are full of flowers, fruit, veg & #wildlife. Winner of the BBC Gardeners' World Magazine 'Gardens of the Year Competition 2021'. I am also interested in outdoor #bonsai and #trees in general. I live in England.

The wildflower area at the allotment entrance which I manage is looking very colourful now. It is also alive with all sorts of insects, many different bumblebees, solitary bees, wasps, beetles, hoverflies and other flies and have also spotted several caterpillars. I like caterpillars and I am always happy when I find a new one. #flowers #pollinators #insects

Sunday, April 12th. The bloodroot plant is a lovely sign of spring. The plants make happy colonies, spreading by rhizomes and seed dispersal. The pollinators appreciate the early blossoms. And later in the season the ants like to carry the seeds off as treasure. #nativeplants, #pollinators, #minnesota, #zone4b

March 18, 2026. Field notes. The wind and heavy snow of the weekend covers native plants. This round headed bush clover stem is sturdy, often lasting two winters. This stem will return to the upright position as the snow melts. These plants have lovely winter color and striking seed heads.
