#Dandelions are vital to bees. Vast flowering season - February to November around here. Nectar/pollen for hungry #bees/#hoverflies/#butterflies among others. Cherish them.

I spent some quiet time in the backyard with my camera. I love finding the discipline to minimize my movements so I don't startle the bees. It paid off today as I captured them sampling the catnip flowers (a local favorite)! #SolarPunkSunday #SpendTimeInNature #GardeningForPollinators #Bumblebees #NatureHeals

Male bumblebees can’t sting. (No stinger). They’re primarily here to do the wild thing!

Saw some good bombels on this random plant I don't recognise. They're the colouring of what I consider the usual bumblebees, but also were about half the size I'd expect! Might look up the species in a little bit. #Bees #BumbleBees

TIL that bumblebees, which I had thought were harmless, are in fact MOSTLY harmless. Apparently there was a nest in a pile of composted leaves, and disturbing it was just the right amount of provocation. #Bumblebees #Gardening
