Part of my longtime personal healing work was to forgive myself for spending too much time, trying to explain myself, to folks who were committed to not wanting to understand who I am. I have a hard time forgiving myself for allowing others to treat me as lesser than & not embracing my own self worth enough. It's something I had to work on for a long time & I still make errors with this when super low on spoons.
Being devalued by people you care about, never feels good. Walking away from people you care about, who devalue you, doesn't feel great either but you can reclaim your self worth more, afterwards.

Pondering on what to cook for lunch for me & Mom.

I have to take Mom to LifeLabs this afternoon for urine test & drop off stool sample. For the gastroenterologist that we are seeing at Saanich Peninsula Hospital in early April.

My brother's back pain issues returned. He was off work, all of last week. He's working today & hopefully will be OK. If not, he'll need more time off work, this week. It's an old work injury that he's never fully recovered from.
I packed him a hearty hot & nourishing lunch.

Update on my longterm backyard soil remediation project & trying to replace lawn with alternative groundcover/edible & medicinal plants/wildflowers. This is part of the patch that I did cardboard/seaweed/leaf mulching on last year. It now has mixed #clovers & #DeadNettles & #chickweed. These will all attract more pollinators, when they flower too 🐝🦋

In #TetOffensive 3 phases in 1968, North Vietnam army & Viet Cong attacked military & civilian sites across South Vietnam.

#USTerrorists retaliated with #MyLaiMassacre on 16 March 1968 - 504 civilians, mainly women & children, were gang-raped & mutilated. Those who helped the Vietnamese were seen as traitors. Only one of the US terrorists - William Calley, was tried. He was only sentenced to house arrest for 3.5 years for the atrocious war crimes. None of the other US terrorists were ever punished for participating in same atrocities on our peoples.

[ Canada’s defence chief Gen. Jennie Carignan says allies are in talks about possibly helping Persian Gulf states defend themselves against bombing from Iran.

Carignan says a meeting is set for Friday to discuss such a proposal among allied militaries and the Canadian Armed Forces would present a recommendation to the government.

She did not specify what type of support this might involve but said Canada is not taking part in the U.S. bombing of Iran and confirmed the discussions are not about participating in Operation Epic Fury.

Her comments come as the Conservatives call for a parliamentary debate before any sort of Canadian military deployment in the ongoing war.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Thursday that Canada can’t “categorically” rule out military participation in the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

He added that Canada’s potential future involvement is a “fundamental hypothetical” and that Ottawa will stand by its allies. ]

We have quite a few Persian immigrants & former refugees of Iran who live in Victoria, BC. One of my good friends, fellow photog, is a Persian immigrant.

There's a lot more to #Iran than just ongoing political strifes, desert lands & religious power conflicts. It's a mostly misunderstood & relatively unknown place to most people from Western worlds. #Persians have a very deep, culturally rich & long history there. Their peoples are highly resilient, creative masters, well educated & quite inventive. Iran is the birthplace of #algebra. I need to vent about the #EpsteinFiles as a teen survivor of SA, who never got to see justice delivered. The guy who raped me died last year without ever being put in prison. He SAed multiple teens & young women, after assaulting me when I was 15 yrs old. He had more social status power than I had. So many people protected him instead of supporting me & others that he SAed & physically beat up. I found out over a decade after he SAed me that he was friends with many corrupt cops & they aided/abetted his multiple crimes over 3 decades. Us teens who were victimized by the same guy didn't have much of a chance - even if we had courage + solid support, to go more public back when we were teens.
Corrupt government run system protect the predators over victims. We supported each other in private to try to recover from SA inflicted traumas.

Those SA traumas never fully leave you...
You just learn how to deal with it a bit better, over time or else it can drown you with heavy emotions & block you from taking back some of your brutally stolen personal power.

I'm very pissed off about people harshly judging the victims/survivors of Epstein's(and his shitty cohorts) sex crimes. People who have never been SAed don't get that it can take many years for people to speak up about what happened to them & some people take their unspoken trauma experiences to their graves. It took tremendous courage for Epstein survivors to speak out in public. I hate people who don't understand how difficult it is to talk about SA traumas in public in the first place - much less do so when the perpetrators are super rich, very powerful public figures. It took me 15 years to speak up in public about what happened to me as a teen.
