July 13, 1941 NYT #WWII Jacqueline Cochran is today the No. 1 woman flier of America, having established some seventeen different records. Miss Cochran wants to see women fliers in this country trained for the same kind of work. She says there is now a nucleus of about 200 women who have had the necessary amount of hours. Today flying is not Jacqueline Cochran's whole life. There was a terrible event in #WWII in #Saipan where as American troops advanced Japanese civilians committed mass suicide. They believed due to #propaganda that the Americans would be monstruously cruel Here we see a similar sentiment as #Ukraine captures #Russia's troops Traditional #media and #socialMedia lies lead to this Pointless #war and stupid #projection of one's own malice It's why the lies we see can't just be dismissed. They are rat poison. They must be fought #UkraineWar

So I'm bored turning a part on my lathe & looking at a box on my wall that holds various cutting tools. Many hundreds of times I've seen the writing that starts out "Bendix" & I'm like yawn, brake parts. For the first time I read the whole thing: "Bendix Telemetering Equip. To W.S.P.G." OMG! In the late 1940s this box contained the world's first telemetry equipment used in captured German V2 rockets that were being tested at White Sands Proving Grounds, NM! 1/2 #History #Rockets #Military #WWII
