Here’s Dick Gaughan performing Pete Seeger’s “Waist Deep in the Big Muddy” live in 2001 for the #dirty theme for #JukeboxFridayNight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZYCQVdtLYU #DickGaughan #PeteSeeger #livemusic

For the #History theme for this week's #JukeBoxFridayNight, here's "Prisoner" by Scottish folk singer Dick Gaughan. My father introdued me to this song and it's stuck with me. At the time I'd known nothing of German Nobel Peace Prize winner Carl von Ossietzky and his fate. Caution: it's a grim song, with an uneasy message. We cannot let this history repeat. This week's #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #history. Perfect for my love of folk. Here we have The Diggers Song, or The World Turned Upside Down. I’ve chosen Dick Gaughan’s version, which is less angry than Billy Bragg’s but has a bit more gravitas I think. #DickGaughan #BillyBragg #Folk #FolkMusic "The World Turned Upside Down" by "Dick Gaughan" from the album "Handful of Earth" - listen here —> https://musiccloud.io/srEZGlmA More about The Diggers here if interested https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diggers
