Kelly-Ann Maddox is commenting again on ex-witches who turned Christian, she has a whole video series on this topic. 🖤 It's happening! Finally the details are confirmed and I can share this thing I've been working on for a while -- I'll be hosting an Ancestral Sigil Making workshop on Sunday, October 18th at Brewja Elixir in Joshua Tree. We'll be working within a communal setting using a somatic method to pull two sigils: one made by us, that we will burn at the end to leave behind. One made by another attendee as we make theirs to carry ancestral wisdom forward into the season, marked with jagua on our skin. Be prepared to come for the afternoon, settle in, and truly integrate into the experience. If you were looking for a good time to take a trip out to this region I hope this is it! If price is what's keeping you from going, I'm starting a waitlist for a certain amount of pay-what-you-can seats, so just DM me to get on that, and those seats will be released about three weeks before the date of the event. You're all getting this about a week before I'll be ready to post it on Instagram, and before the owner of Brewja puts it out on her network, so if you are interested you'll be set to get seats before anyone else. Let me make you something powerful for your altar, craft you a sigil to work into your practice! I'm also offering readings: Dreams are incredible tools for magical work. We literally experience our astral body in dreams, and when we learn to ask for specific answers they often reveal themselves to us. Even when we don't ask, sometimes something particularly important nags at us through recurring dreams or recurring motifs in dreams: a figure that keeps showing up, a sensation, people from our past. If you'd like to get into something that's been coming up for you, feel free to book a reading and I'd love to dive deeper into how to disentangle these threads. Likewise, sometimes certain symbols come up again and again, and you might waver between how to engage with it. I'd love to hold space for that kind of weaving as well. If any of this resonates or feels needed in your life, please feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to offer any of this on a "pay what you can" basis. Ultimately, these offerings are as a result of needing income to keep ourselves going and normally I'd like to offer them for free, period, and have for some of you who continue exchange with me frequently. Every year I harvest and dry a bit of St. John's Wort for magick and the occassional tea. Since it's a natural anti-depressant, it makes a lovely calming tea. Works much better than chamomile, I think, and tastes way better. However, I can only use it very sparingly because it can interact with my heart medication (beta blocker). So I just fill a tiny jar to use throughout the year, and I mostly use it for magick. It's good for spells that bring clarity and reveal truth, spells for happiness, and for mental healing. It's a sunny, solar flower that blooms around the summer solstice, and was used for anxiety ("nerve" disorders) since way before its chemical antidepressant properties were discovered. The species name of St. John's Wort is 'perforatum,' because it has perforations; tiny little pinholes in the leaves that you can see when you hold it up to the sun. It let's the light in. Also, the yellow flowers will exude a red oil when crushed or dried, which makes it look like its bleeding. This is why it's named after St. John the Baptist, who supposedly had the stigmata. It is also why his feast day is in June. It's traditional to harvest them on June 24th, but here in the North mine aren't usually ready until a couple weeks after that. The main spell I use it for is a charm on my silver necklace to give me calm and clarity in public social situations. Helps with overstimulation. I cleanse and re-up the spell every couple full moons. Another regular use is the ritual "someone I care about is upset" tea that you make because there's nothing you can do in a situation except make tea and listen to them while they unburden themselves. St. John's Wort is an excellent plant friend to have, but like mint, it can really take over an area if you let it. Best to keep it contained to a pot or harvest it in the wild. It's considered invasive in most of the US because it crowds out native plants and it's toxic to grazing cattle. So harvesting a bunch that you see growing out in a field is actually helpful! #Witchcraft #HedgeWitch

Some of the older newsletters on my site are getting a few random clicks from folks on the internet these days, and it reminded me that since I'm new to some of you here again, some of these are useful to better understand what it is I do if that's something you care to understand. In the article it says I've yet to take money for a tattoo, that point is now somewhat outdated as I have had one paid opportunity, and am continuously figuring out this space of being compensated for my time and work to in turn support the Ranch and our endeavors here and the thin line of which projects really just warrant total mutual exchange -- of which most of my projects are still just rooted in relation and "this needs to be done so let's do it".
