This week’s Minoan Tarot cards. This deck is my creation, made the old-fashioned way (ink on paper) and available at bookstores everywhere. Lord of Labryses: This card represents a person who behaves in a decisive way and who may be impatient with others who are not as resolute. This person holds strong opinions, is knowledgeable about the reasons behind their opinions, and often tries to persuade others to agree with them. These strong opinions may change frequently as the person picks up new information and adds it into their thought process. This person is not deceitful – they honestly believe in what they’re selling, whether it’s a product, a belief system, or their own opinion. Just be aware they may not always be right, no matter how convinced they are of their own good judgment. Maid of Daggers: The Maid of Daggers represents creativity and imagination unfettered by in-the-box thinking. This card represents not so much a set of actions as an attitude and worldview, especially that of refusing to accept traditional forms and boundaries in any creative endeavor, whether it be artwork, writing, marketing, or any other type of expression that requires imagination. This card depicts a person who has not yet internalized the restrictions society puts on each person’s creative vision. This may be due to the simple innocence of youth or to a purposeful rejection of any set of rules imposed from outside. For those who are new to these card draws, each week I pull one card from the top of the deck and a second card from the bottom. The top-of-the-deck card (the first one, on the left) gives us some helpful hints about how to navigate our week. The bottom-of-the-deck card (the second one, on the right) is the “secret treasure” that can help us find joy in these Interesting Times. https://www.minoantarot.com/ #Minoan #Tarot #pagan

Tarot handles complexity better than it handles simple yes/no questions. Systems exist for extracting binary answers(upright/reversed, suit assignments, favorable/unfavorable categories) but the card structure isn't built for it. Pendulums and Lenormand are often better for getting yes/no answers. The article covers how to rephrase questions that get clearer tarot readings. #Tarot #Divination #TarotTips #WitchCraft https://juniperdivination.com/yes-or-no-tarot

#TarotTipTuesday Thinking of the minor cards as memories, or small skits of everyday life, can help in memorization and application of the card to different situations. If the Major Arcana represents the milestones of The Fool’s Journey, then the Minor Arcana are the everyday experiences of living that we all commonly go through. For example, the 6 of Cups is an adult passing on cultural knowledge to a child. The 2 of Pentacles is a person juggling different priorities and commitments, trying to find balance. Or the 10 of Swords, where the character is literally stabbed in the back. These are things that all of us go through in different flavors and intensities throughout our lives. A tarot deck is the sum of the human experience. #tarot

Hi! I'm new here and looking to make new friends! I can be found elsewhere in the fediverse, but the server I'm usually on doesn't feel like the right place for spirituality. I was brought up Catholic and I rejected spirituality altogether for long time. But recently, I've found my way back to it on my own terms. In practice this looks like learning #tarot, but I've been dabbling in minor rituals a little as well. There's a decent chance I'll post some #art or talk about #books or #dance. I'll mostly avoid politics and how they affect my life, though it may come up in the context of tarot readings (in which case I use CNs). Other things to know about me: I'm 40 years old, #trans, #bi / #pan, #polyamorous, and #AuDHD. I'm originally from Germany 🇩🇪 (I've lived in 5 states, so it's hard to be specific). I've lived in the US 🇺🇸 for the past decade, where I'm on my fifth state, too (most recently #Colorado, which I *love*). I've also lived in Switzerland 🇨🇭 and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. I'm functionally bilingual (#English and #German). I mostly understand #French 🇫🇷 but haven't spoken it in 20 years. I've learned #Japanese 🇯🇵 to about JLPT-4 level but that, too, is over a decade in my past. More recently, I've picked up some #BrazilianPortuguese 🇧🇷 (Babble says I'm around B2 level) but haven't really used it much. I can't keep up with written Japanese but I can get the general gist in all the other languages. 😄 I used to do federally funded #RenewableEnergy research but if you've been following the news, you may have guessed that I've had to pivot to other topics. In my personal life, I spend most of my time dancing #BrazilianZouk, painting, reading, and chilling with my three #cats: Charmander (orange, that's him in my profile pic), Anubis (black), and Trixie (technically brown tabby but mostly white). My favorite book genres are #fantasy and #scifi, but I also read a lot of #romance (mostly #queer), and I try to read at least one non-fiction book per month. #introduction
