#ScribesAndMakers 5/7. When did you think of the idea for your current project? Do you remember how it came about? So we (my wife and I) are booked to trade at a steampunk event on June 6th/7th. My wife said, late March this year, "the theme for the event is pirates and mermaids, we could write books". So I said "That's a good idea." The file was opened March 25th and the writing completed at 30K words on May 4th. And I'm now working on the clean-ups. In today's writing: --- They used a boathook under her arm to draw her closer then two men grabbed her to pull her aboard. They managed to get her halfway. “She’s a heavy thing, slippery too,” said one. “On three. One… two… heave!” Moments later the dead dark-skinned woman was dragged aboard, along with her fins and fish tail. #eroticMusings Week 48 (April 26-May 2) Setting PoV (any character): What’s something you think is special about the place you’re in?

Maylees is absolutely delighted to discover that mermaids do, in fact, exist after she rescues one (called Khu) from drowning.

A drowning mermaid? It’s complicated, and ultimately sapphic.

Although it’s on order I don’t yet have a machine capable of rendering Maylees, Khu and the ocean in the same image but here’s a textual taster. (Oh, Khu cannot pronounce Maylees name, it comes out as “Nayee”.)

The soft warmth of Nayee pressed against Khu’s body and she never wanted it to end. Only the slightest boost from her tail kept them both floating, as the ocean rose and fell around them.

#LesFicFri "EXCUSE" It was only two days to the wedding. Polly had been up early for a change, without even a pause for a cuddle and fumble. Just a kiss and she was away. Once dressed, she set about checking through all the clothes she was planning to take, and seeing what needed a needle taking to it. The pile was not insignificant. Leaving Veronica with nothing to do. She lay in bed not wanting to interrupt Polly, but the prospect of dressing herself again did not appeal. Even if she did need more practice. Instead, she dozed for another hour and wished she had a book to read. Later, Polly stopped sewing, helped Veronica dress, and they went down to breakfast. After which Polly excused herself and went back to the bedroom to carry on with the sewing.
