Seeking beta testers for a new opt-in Fediverse service - FediAdhan
https://fediadhan.org/
Have you ever felt your #Mastodon timeline was missing something? You get regular updates about the weather, the bongs of Big Ben on the hour; perhaps even that one account that toots like a chicken. But you've been missing timely updates about the Islamic call to prayer.
No longer: with FediAdhan, simply pick your location on the map and you'll get an account you can follow from your #ActivityPub client, which will drop a toot in your timeline when any of the five Islamic prayer times rolls around (and optionally for sunrise as well). And you get a neat pie chart of daylight/twilight for your location, as a bonus.
Explicitly opt-in, privacy focused, #HumanMade with no LLMs used at any stage in development. Try it out, let me know if you have thoughts, feedback, issues you run into.
"Wondering". Oil pastel on paper, with glossy finish applied. Continuing this paricular style, which is quite satisfying to do: to make those strong strokes with the pastels - so smooth and comfy!

Despite this being a quick sketch, it may actually get entered to a miniature contest in October -- it's been very popular so far!

Painted at Reno Food Systems Farm. He is definitely the star of the farm, or at least he thinks so. It was a much-needed relaxing day.

Everyone has different styles of creation.
Some do it in the morning. Some need to work at night. Some need white noise; others need silence.
None of these ways are wrong as long as you CREATE.

Do you remember joy, creative?
It may have been a long time since you could take real pleasure in what you make.
There’s good news. You can get back to that.

Getting out of block is like avoiding heat stroke. It can be done, but it requires you be mindful about doing some things…
And doubly mindful about avoiding others.

Creative, you need hope. Without it, you’ll never commit to your art (why would you, if it might fail).
Without commitment, the art will not be made.

Jordan Peele said it right: when it comes to a first draft, your’e shoveling sand in a box. LATER, you can make a castle, but if you don’t start by shoveling sand, you will have nothing to build.

“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race, and the human race is filled with passion.”

Living things need to consume.
If you don’t read, you will not write well. If you don’t look at art, you will not draw well.
Good news, Creative: nothing is stopping you from feeding yourself right now.

Creative, your brain is an amazing thing. It can form habits! It can also break them.
It’s time to talk about the habit of creation.
