🏰 Château Secession, an abandoned chateau in France that appears filled with relics. Enigmatic and atmospheric, right? Well, not quite. The collection seems to be a hobbyist's personal trove of cheap props and tat, rather than priceless artefacts. For example, the "cannon" was just a pipe balanced on some old cart wheels. In the years before antibiotics, facilities like this were the only treatment for many respiratory diseases. The site closed in the 1980s. While up in Whitehorse, I came across this abandoned structure on the top of the Whitehorse escarpment, overlooking the city below, not far from the airport. It has a rich patina of graffiti now, and is being used as a shelter, but I’m curious as to what it was originally used for. The most common theory seems to be that it was an old crematorium, but I’ve seen others claim online that this is false, and that it was used to burn documents by the military. #whitehorse #Abandoned #AbandonedPlaces

The strangest "amusement" park you've ever seen, a few defunct rides for kids including a haunted cave, an NSFW sculpture garden "Love Land" adults only, and the sketchiest gondola down to a series of waterfalls that I shouldn't have trusted with my life, but did on two occasions. This is Talo'fo'fo Falls - also the home of the Japanese soldier that remained hidden for decades following the end of WWII not knowing the war was over.
