One of my favourite abandoned places in Italy, the beautiful Villa C. Which beautiful room is your favourite?
I have been lucky enough to visit several times over the years; unfortunately nowadays she is covered with graffiti. I always remember her as she was, beautiful and unmarked!

Blue Power Plant, located within a derelict industrial steelworks site in Belgium. The plant used gas produced during the creation of coke at an adjacent factory to generate power. Natural gas was also used to fuel a large boiler house on the site.

🔏 An old disused prison in Germany.
Initially designed for medium-term and pre-trial detention, this building and its 50 single-occupancy cells have witnessed some darker chapters in history.
Disused since the 1980s, the khaki green halls still contain haunting cells with folding bunks and reinforced doors.

I love the idea that nature is always waiting in the wings, waiting for the opportunity to reclaim what we have taken.
A smashed window or a collapsed roof is all it takes, a small opening for plant-life to enter and take root.

A beautiful abandoned ruin in the spa town of Tskaltubo, western Georgia. Built during the Soviet period, this sanatorium primarily served miners, particularly those working in manganese extraction in towns such as Chiatura.
The entrance features ornate scalloped arches, multi-lobed, draw inspiration from mediaeval Georgian church architecture and Islamic-influenced stone carving.

Old cars taken for one last drive and dumped in forests. Cable cars left in silent stations. Soviet-era planes, once gate guardians to old air bases, now just an out-of-place curiosity. Huge rusting steam trains languishing in old collapsing depots.

Spaceship Ropeway is an abandoned aerial tramway station, perched high on a valley wall above a river. Somewhere in Japan.
Built in the 1960s, it once carried visitors 730 metres across the gorge to a nearby theme park. The park closed around 2000, and the ropeway shut with it.
One rounded gondola remains in the upper station, a one-tonne cabin from the 1980s named Silver, painted green with red trim.
