Il Tempo: Ungheria, il neopremier che piace alla Sinistra nomina il cognato ministro della Giustizia Il nuovo premier ungherese Peter Magyar, paladino della lotta alla corruzione, ha nominato il cognato ministro della Giustizia, respingendo le polemiche sul possibile conflitto di interessi. "Conosco questa persona da molto tempo. La mia decisione si basa sulla sua preparazione e sul suo impegno per lo Stato di diritto", ha dichiarato il leader di Tisza in un post sul social network X, spiegando la scelta di Márton Melléthei-Barna per il ruolo di Guardasigilli nel governo che entrerà in carica il 9 maggio prossimo. Magyar ha ammesso che la decisione "ha creato un serio dilemma anche per me", alla luce del legame familiare con il futuro ministro, sposato con la sorella, ma ha sottolineato che le preoccupazioni sono "comprensibili" e che la "nomina è fondata esclusivamente sul merito". Per evitare qualsiasi possibile conflitto, ha inoltre annunciato che la moglie del ministro lascerà l'incarico di giudice, compiendo "un altro sacrificio per evitare anche solo l'apparenza di una commistione tra i poteri dello Stato". "Non è stato un calcolo politico - ha sottolineato Magyar- ma la domanda principale era: chi può rappresentare il programma di un'Ungheria funzionante e umana con la massima preparazione, convinzione morale e incrollabile onestà?". E la scelta, tra i molti esperto di questioni giuridiche, magistrati e avvocati è caduta proprio sul marito della sorella del nuovo primo ministro adulto dalla Sinistra in Italia perché ha sconfitto alle urne Victor Orban, il vecchio premier vicino a Giorgia Meloni. Hungary's new government is to review the country's €16 billion Security Action for Europe (SAFE) defence plan, citing corruption risks. Outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán submitted a request for a low-interest loan to the European Commission last year under SAFE, which will distribute €150 billion among 19 member states for military readiness across the bloc. However incoming Prime Minister Péter Magyar and his team have asked to reassess the plan based on possible ties to Hungarian industrial interests associated with Orbán. The prompt abandonment of Viktor Orbán but the global Right & their quick shift to 'supporting' Péter Magyar after the Hungarian elections tells us two (contrasting) things: There is little loyalty in the New Right; whoever it looks contingent to support gets it with little looking in the rearview mirror; But equally the Right may be also confident that Péter Magyar is one of their won in any case.... #Hungary #politics #Right
