last week I hiked The Bear Trail (Karhunkierros) in Finland. It's 82kms of hugely varied terrain starting inside the Arctic circle in Lapland (if you go north to south) and ending in Ruka village in Kuusamo, a cute little ski town. We did it in 4 days which was a push and made the days very long and tiring. The back country of Finland is what I imagine an outdoor IKEA series to be...highly curated and very Skandi. but it was cool to see another country through the hiker trash lens

yeh that's exactly my point, it's not exactly a secret the community has been asking for this for years and FP seem to have just ignored it in preference to letting the community do all the heavy lifting

good for you. I had the FP4 before this and found it just slowed down and became annoying to use. granted part of that was down to me however when the camera stopped working completely I gave up on it. I don't want to spend hours rebuilding my phone and fiddling to make it work well but I do want privacy and you couldn't have both....but hopefully times are changing

yeh I know but that means buying a new phone again. I'm on FP5 and probably won't buy another one cause they have missed the boat for too long on this and not listened to their users who have asked for a privacy based OS out of the box for years

I have a Fairphone and the biggest gripe I have with it is Android. I still can't believe Fairphone haven't read the room and provided and alternative privacy based option out of the box without having to flash firmware and risk bricking your phone. this is interesting
