We have just shipped dokieli's new menu design! Now we have grouped features and tabs so it is easier to find what you are looking for.

Integration with #GitHub and #Forgejo

You can now log in to dokieli using your GitHub Forgejo (for now we support PAT but OAuth coming very soon), and read and write HTML/markdown from repositories you have access to.

🦋 As part of our procrastination spree, and to address content creators' pains, we've introduced a few features and improvements:

* Improved sign in dialog with more useful onboarding info and help.
* Introduced Markdown support for editing (you can toggle between rich text and markdown editor modes)
* Restructured the social and author toolbars, grouping the features to make it easier to navigate around (and you can now toggle edit and read mode from the toolbar too)

At dokieli Interstellar Enterprises, we are approaching the speed of light with the internationalization (#i18n) work.

Added translations for the #UI in #Armenian (Շնորհավոր Սուրբ Ծնունդ), #French #Japanese #Korean #Italian #Portuguese #Ukrainian . Used temporary bootstrap machine-translations but soon the community process will take over.

There is also Initial text direction support (but we'll share more later when showcasing RTL languages).

@khinsen@scholar.social .., the short answer: you can technically save or save as to any HTTP URL that you are authorized to. In practice, this means that you can have your own HTTP server running somewhere that you can store your articles and annotations with HTTP write operations, or you can have an account on a community server that you can authenticate into. dokieli currently supports authenticating with Solid. We're looking into supporting other authentication mechanisms but suggestions most welcome. /2

@khinsen@scholar.social , thanks for raising this! You are completely right that this is not well communicated in the UI and docs. We have just created these issues which go into more depth if you are interested:

With regards to the lack of info/error you experienced when attempting to save to a random URL, that was a bug and we have just fixed it. You should see a proper error now.

* Real-time language switching from the #UI.
* Browser language detection w/ persistence.
* Currently: English and Spanish, more to come.
* Separates UI localization (#l10n) from content language selection.

More i18n is WIP, e.g., language preference from profile, RTL support, locale-aware formatting, docs and website translations, adaptive UI, community translations.
