I've been seeing a few toots about getting off the corporate web and getting back to something more personal. Let me put in a plug for our dear old https://sdf.org/ . If you were an internet kid in the 80s and 90s, SDF has everything you want. Web(1.0) hosting, email, shell access, gopher, Gemini (no, not that one), chat, web radio and more. HTML used to (mostly) be a format for reading and writing documents. As time went on, it got changed to an application format. These 2 use-cases (doc vs app) are at odds. One of the motivations in the small-net / small-web space is to take HTML back to its document format roots.
