🖤 It's happening! Finally the details are confirmed and I can share this thing I've been working on for a while -- I'll be hosting an Ancestral Sigil Making workshop on Sunday, October 18th at Brewja Elixir in Joshua Tree. We'll be working within a communal setting using a somatic method to pull two sigils: one made by us, that we will burn at the end to leave behind. One made by another attendee as we make theirs to carry ancestral wisdom forward into the season, marked with jagua on our skin. Be prepared to come for the afternoon, settle in, and truly integrate into the experience. If you were looking for a good time to take a trip out to this region I hope this is it! If price is what's keeping you from going, I'm starting a waitlist for a certain amount of pay-what-you-can seats, so just DM me to get on that, and those seats will be released about three weeks before the date of the event. You're all getting this about a week before I'll be ready to post it on Instagram, and before the owner of Brewja puts it out on her network, so if you are interested you'll be set to get seats before anyone else. Time has been weird these past two weeks. Like really... off. Not sure if I mentioned but last week felt like Thursday all week, then Friday I legit could not remember the week right. Like I knew it happened but... it was like I read a summary of it. "She had a mostly uneventful week, punctuated by her perpetual frustration with her job." <-- like that. THIS week has so far felt like a perpetual Weds. And I'd just dismiss it, but things ALSO feel full of potential, like one of those brief windows of possibility where the normal paths of what can be are laid aside and ANYTHING becomes possible, if u can figure it out. Last time this happened and I found my way through, I passed a threshold. Or a test. I sense, not know, that whatever it is, is something I'd never have expected. And my feeling is that I'll have to choose to take a huge risk. And that is to start. Will I pass thru, or will I miss the opp? I guess we will see. I briefly mentioned this before but this is the new page of offerings -- you can also view them on my website. Let me make you something powerful for your altar, craft you a sigil to work into your practice! I'm also offering readings: Dreams are incredible tools for magical work. We literally experience our astral body in dreams, and when we learn to ask for specific answers they often reveal themselves to us. Even when we don't ask, sometimes something particularly important nags at us through recurring dreams or recurring motifs in dreams: a figure that keeps showing up, a sensation, people from our past. If you'd like to get into something that's been coming up for you, feel free to book a reading and I'd love to dive deeper into how to disentangle these threads. Likewise, sometimes certain symbols come up again and again, and you might waver between how to engage with it. I'd love to hold space for that kind of weaving as well. If any of this resonates or feels needed in your life, please feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to offer any of this on a "pay what you can" basis. Ultimately, these offerings are as a result of needing income to keep ourselves going and normally I'd like to offer them for free, period, and have for some of you who continue exchange with me frequently. I’ve been sort of stuck in an in-between place for a while, feeling guilty that I was enjoying exploring my darker side, calling on entities other people consider “evil.” I’m not trying to hurt anyone (who doesn’t deserve it) but it was kind of… me feeling like I was letting my goddess down by being more… that. More me, I guess. And that was making my magic work less consistently. But I think… despite my rejection of Yahweh’s control, despite my polytheism, I still sometimes get stuck thinking in monotheistic terms. “Is my goddess jealous” “Am I going to make them mad” “Is this actually okay?” So my rituals became... Long Beach trip in a couple of weeks, very excited to work with this new artist. Have a big session with a dear client booked soon after that here at the studio at the Ranch, and we're anticipating probably a few sessions will be needed for that piece. By maybe August, before we start breeding and planting at the Ranch, I will have some time to travel to LA or San Diego areas to tattoo if anyone is located there and is interested. Emails are currently open! I've posted this before but have yet to move all of my tattoo pictures to the new computer, so I'm just adding it for increased visibility. I suppose though I've been floating around Fedi in one form or another I should do an #Introduction post once again. For those of you who I have yet to meet, hello! I am Siin. I am an animist witch embedded in the ecosystem now called the Mojave desert, stewarding this land. One of my jobs is to perform sacred tattoos for those with whom I am in appropriate relation. I do many things, but these are primary. I also write in depth about magickal topics on my website: sigillosacro.com. ICE is not about “law and order,” It is about fear, surveillance, family separation, and the state sanctioned erasure of human dignity. She is a guardian of the vulnerable, not an enforcer for the disgusting people in power. If your version of Hekate is comfortable with detention camps, raids, and terrorized communities, then you are not honoring her you are domesticating her. She bends for no man! And let’s be clear: the current government enabling, expanding, and excusing ICE is complicit. Silence is not neutrality “I don’t mix politics and witchcraft” is a luxury afforded by privilege, a privilege I do not have. You don’t get to invoke a goddess of justice, protection, and liminality while turning away from real people being harmed at the thresholds of this country. Magic that does not confront oppression seems pointless to me. Devotion that refuses accountability is basically lip service. Hekate asks us to be honest with ourselves even when it’s uncomfortable, and sometimes that honesty looks like saying: this system is wrong, and I will not sanctify it. I will not look away! If you work with Hekate, then work against cruelty, against dehumanization and work against ICE. Anything less isn’t devotion it’s avoidance."
