I used the yarn from the shawl I frogged for #FinishOrFrogAlong to make this cozy, diamond-shaped cat couch. It fits right into the corner of my antique eckbank, in hopes of keeping the cats off the kitchen table.

@consumablejoy@wandering.shop does it count if I bought the yarn for a project but haven't started yet? 😇

I found this adorable cat-butt coaster pattern and want to make coasters as holiday gifts for some of my cat-owned friends. So I dug through pics they have shared of their cats, and my treat for myself after finishing the Christmas mouse was a trip to my local yarn shop to stock up on cotton yarn in appropriate colors. My BFF has a tabby striped black-and-gray cat, and I couldn't find an appropriate gradient yarn, so I'm going to try to hold two thinner strands together for the first time!

Getting to actually start on them will be my reward for finishing my Totoro amigurumi... 😊

One of my favorite finished objects is this penguin toy from Susan B Anderson. He turns inside out from an egg to a penguin and is so fun! I made him as a gift for @Pufferfish@wandering.shop many years ago. I don’t really know why I haven’t made more but it’s probably due to focusing on more practical, wearable things now instead of toys. Might have to make more of these topsy-turvy inside-out toys. #knitting #toys #handmade #fiberArts #FibreArts #FinishOrFrogAlong #FoFAQandA

Update: @talldarknweirdo@mastodon.social pointed me to https://www.theedkins.co.uk/jo/lace/eqfinish.htm - which is exactly what I was seeking. Hooray! Now I just have to actually *do* the thing... 😁 ~ ~ ~ So I have unearthed a real challenge, and I'm hoping for help from the #fiberarts crowd... I started this #bobbinlace project in college, 30 years ago. It's been sitting in a dusty corner of my home office ever since - mostly because I don't know how to finish it! Can anyone point me at a resource that would enable me to terminate this? If nothing else, it'll make a decent bookmark! #FinishOrFrogAlong@crafters@fedigroups.social

I’m curious - #FinishOrFrogAlong folk is there a type of project (relevant to your craft) that you’ve never made and likely never will? For me it’s gloves - I knit hand warmers and mittens on a fairly regular basis but never gloves. The prospect of fiddling about with 8 fingers, on top of the thumbs, gives me the nope. So no matter how lovely the pattern looks I never make them.

#3GoodThings @3goodthings@fedigroups.social Three good things this evening.

  1. The interesting conversations we're having around #FinishOrFrogAlong
  2. The good, fresh food I can easily purchase.
  3. Nikola Tesla.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things." - Philippians 4:8

Right then, for the first time this year I’m gonna join in with #FinishOrFrogAlong, because for the first time I’ve broken my cardinal monogamy rule of one #knitting and one #crochet WIP at a time, because reasons! So here’s what’s in progress and what the plan is, clockwise from the top left: 1\ a german short row heel sock. This was cast on because my wife dared me to and I should’ve known better 😅 Anyway, I finished one sock and said I won’t do the other until everything else is finished! 2\ waffle stitch crochet blanket. This is a mindless, work-on-it-when-I-don’t-want-to-focus kinda thing. Aim is to finish it by next summer. 3\ Zelda double knit scarf. This one’s a beast, what you see here isn’t even a quarter of the whole thing. I paused it because I had other things to make more urgently. It’ll be my main project after number 4 is done. 4\ my current main project is this jumper with custom yoke design by my son, based on a favourite album of mine. This has to finish by the end of the month as I want to wear it to a live concert next month! So that’s the plan. Finish the jumper, then the scarf, then the sock, while background crocheting the blanket. No frogging!

Friends, a Jarre Equinoxe Jumper update: I’ve finished 23 rounds of the yoke pattern, with 6 left. Once that’s done, it’s all downhill from there as this has been made from the bottom up, so just the neck will be left \o/ For reference, the yoke is based on Jarre’s Equinoxe album. My son designed the yoke pattern for me, and I think he did a cracking job. Idea is to wear this next month for his concert in Amsterdam! #FinishOrFrogAlong #knitting

Quick #yarn question: According to J&S, one of these is “blue” and the other is “sky blue.” Which is which in your opinion? I think they’ve got it the wrong way round, and so does my wife 😅 Their opinion is in the alt text. As a bonus: my #finishorfrogalong #knitting jumper is going well! I just finished round 17 of 29 of the yoke pattern, I’m hoping to finish the whole thing by next weekend. Wish me luck!

Here is the #finishorfrogalong culprit. After finally putting the parts together, nothing seems to fit! The arms too small, the shoulders too low, everything is too wide at the top, yet too narrow at the bottom. Don't even know what to make with the wide neckline. I have a bit of yarn left meant for the cuffs (that is why I learned to knit). When I put it on for the picture I was again so shocked, I don't really see a future where I want to keep this piece.

Well, since I committed to tackling The Mending Pile, here it is (or here is the stuff I’m aware of). It’s for five different people! Three things are hand knits, two of them by me. Everything will need a very different technique. I’m tempted to start with the socks, since I have the original yarn and have re-heeled socks enough times that it isn’t much of a puzzle. #FinishOrFrogAlong #mending
