斉藤謠子さんのレシピで布バッグをつくりました～。差し色に赤が欲しかったのでちょこっと刺し子でワンポイントにしました。裏地の布が薄手のわりに張りがあり針の通りが悪かったのは計算外だったけれど丈夫な感じで結果良かったかな。

Yesterday I bought this fab little bag from a wonderful lady at the arts festival, it will be perfect for storing threads for cross stitch projects. We had a great discussion about how buying material/threads/yarn/any crafty stuff and then actually using them are entirely different hobbies. Anyone into crafting knows this to be true.

Looking for a #seamstress or #tailor in #yyc to make a couple of shirts for me. I have the pattern and instructions on making the shirt. It isn't fancy or complicated and requires only cotton fabric in a summer weight.

About a decade ago I wanted a cool fabric with a feminist scifi theme and I was not too fussed about quality. So I made this collage of old scifi covers with women. I have never used it (first found no pattern, then was annoyed at the quality of the fabric). I have decided to use it to test a pattern. I have to mix it in with some other fabric because I do not have enough for the (very fabric-hungry) pattern. But I wanted to show the fabric as a whole to people first. I kind of love it. #sewing

I’m sharing how I create these, through a weekly video, hoping to inspire other hand stitchers. I do this while living off-grid, with my cats, in a forest in Nova Scotia.

Since I wanted to elevate my knee yesterday I sat to watch the Detroit Tigers win and caught up on my embroidery project.
As I promised a towel to a Mastodon friend it felt like an opportunity to sit and sew without feeling guilty for everything that wasn't getting done.
This will be the first of a set of two.
Sewing makes me almost as relaxed as baking and I consume less calories. Feels like a win.

Meet Samantha. My new to me 1935 Singer 15.
I have a 6 month wait before my Featherweight gets it paint job, and I realized I was really going to miss have a good vintage straight stitch machine that can handle light weight silks.
I tried to get my other vintage machines up and running, but my treadle is having tension issues and my hands crank is missing a 120 year old bobbin case. I'm mid project and don't have time for servicing.
Found some who restores and sells crack, errr, vintage machines in town, who had this beautiful baby for sale.
Omg! She is the same age as my house.

I finished the leopard jungle dress and I’m really pleased with it! It’s pattern 129 from the July 26 issue of Burda magazine. Thankfully minimal adjustments were needed; removed 11 cm from the length to make it a more flattering length for me, and replaced the drawstring with a simple tie belt so that I could have the option of keeping it untied with a cleaner look than a permanent drawstring.
I made my spouse look at the insides because they’re *so* neat
