#3GoodThings My cousin who I have not seen in years was in town, so we caught up over an extended lunch at South Branch in #Chicago. Food was great,; company was better. I organized a volunteer day with my team from work at Bernie's Book Bank. It was a lot of fun and felt like for a few hours, we made a difference. Speaking of #books, I'm super excited for a couple due out this year by fave authors: Exit Party by #EmilyStJohnMandel and Other Worlds Than These by #StephenKing. @3goodthings@a.gup.pe

The Ugly American, Part 1 Welp, here ah is. Haven’t written lately have I? Howsomever I believe I have enough excuses reasons. Kinda been busy. Leave me brief ye: Seems that some Ukrainians decided that they don’t like Unca Joe’s Hospitality and have also decided to do something About it. They organized into guerilla bands and fought Their way from the Ukraine at night and sleep at day. Quite the characters. Read about such things in the paper But never thought I’d see such a thing. By that I mean each Had two weapons which they acquired by joining the Russian Army and then deserting. But they had excess gastric acidity (burp) Guns, M-1s, Lugers, and what have you. These thirty-five that Were picked up five days ago claimed that they were the Advanced guard for 1000 more. That’s why we’re out here now... #chicago #poetry

Obama accuses Trump (without ever naming him): “Every day we wake up with a new attack on our democratic institutions.” We live in a moment in which it can be difficult to have hope, every day we wake up with a new assault on our democratic institutions, another blow to the rule of law, an offense to the sense of decency. In the funeral oration for Reverend Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama launches a harsh criticism of Donald Trump and his administration, without directly naming the president. “With every awakening we see things that we did not think possible, every day we are told by those in power to fear and attack each other and that some Americans count more than others and that someone counts for nothing,” continued the former president, who, along with other former Democratic presidents, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden, attended the funeral in Chicago of the leader of the civil rights movement, who died last month at the age of 84. “Wherever we look, we see greed and intolerance celebrated, along with bullying and ridicule disguised as strength,” Obama said, clearly referring to the era of the second Trump presidency. The former president nevertheless concluded with a message of hope, looking specifically to the example of Jackson who “inspired us to choose the difficult path, his voice calls us all to be messengers of change and hope.” The article Obama accuses Trump (without ever mentioning him): “Every day we wake up with a new assault on our democratic institutions” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #Obama #Trump #JesseJackson #BarackObama #DonaldTrump #Americans #Democratic #BillClinton #JoeBiden #Chicago #second #Jackson #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/03/08/obama-trump-istituzioni-democratiche-news/8317159/
