One of my work-friends strongly recommended going to the charity shops while I'm in London on vacation (they are, indeed, very different from thrift shops in Canada!) and I found an absolute TREASURE: 4 balls of genuine wool/alpaca yarn for £10 altogether (they were marked at £3/ball but the boys at the counter insisted on only taking a ten since I was getting 4 of them). No cute new dresses or the like (I did try a few things on but nothing seemed like I'd get real wear out of it), but this one find makes the 3-ish hours spent going through a half-dozen shops MORE than worth it. #crochet #fibrearts #secondhand #naturalfibres

Was in an online knit and natter group yesterday where I got to explain the concept of thr fediverse. People seemed fascinated by the idea. Looking for yarn shops that focus on sustainability or are owned by/support LGBTQIA+ or Black/Asian/Indian/Pakistani groups etc. in the UK? Searches under LGBTQ are mostly being up pre-made items.
