Sixty-two million years ago, four million years after the sky fell, a stretch of Egyptian seafloor filled with fish — and held them, perfectly, in stone. Five hundred specimens. More than twenty kinds. A petrified aquarium pulled from blistering sand at a site called Qreiya 3. The asteroid gutted the ocean's food webs, and into that emptied water the percomorphs exploded into needle-toothed predators and the ancestors of tuna and seahorses. https://twp.ai/4hs7AI #Fossils #Paleontology #Science #Egypt #Ocean #Nature #Extinction #DeepTime #NatGeo #EarthHistory #ThistleAndMoss #TheGathering

Science / the fossils 62 million years ago, 4 million years after the asteroid, a stretch of Egyptian seafloor filled with fish — and held them in stone. 500 specimens. Paleontologist Sanaa El-Sayed pulled them from blistering desert, closing a ten-million-year hole in how life rebuilds after catastrophe. https://twp.ai/4hs7C2 #Science #Paleontology #Fossils #Egypt #Extinction #Ocean #Climate #NatGeo #ThistleAndMoss #TheGathering

Yamal takes a Palestinian flag from a fan and waves it on the open-top bus: the gesture during Barcelona celebrations. On social media, images of Lamine Yamal, a 18-year-old phenomenon from Barcelona who, during the team’s celebrations for winning the Spanish championship, waved a Palestinian flag from the roof of the open-top bus transporting the players, have gone viral. One of the images was shared by Yamal himself on his Instagram profile. The flag belonged to a fan following the bus parade: while the fan in question was waving it, Yamal asked him to pass it to him and then decided to display it from the roof of the open-top bus. The footballer – who is currently dealing with an injury – had already taken a stand on other current issues when in March he condemned islamophobic chants during a friendly match between the Spanish national team and Egypt. “Using a religion as a target of mockery on the field makes you ignorant and racist people. Football is for fun, not for disrespecting people for what they are or what they believe,” he wrote then on social media, remembering that he is Muslim. Yamal’s article shows the footballer taking a Palestinian flag from a fan and waving it on the open-top bus: the gesture during the Barcelona celebrations comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #Yamal #Palestinian #Barcelona #LamineYamal #Spanish #Instagram #Egypt #Muslim #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/05/12/lamine-yamal-bandiera-palestinese-barcellona-video-palestina/8383609/
