It's been a while since I had a window seat & it has been light enough to take photos: Whau River mouth at around dawn, with the tide in & boats moored. HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE (2016) Charity Screening on Saturday 25 July 4pm

  • We will be donating 50% of ticket sales to PAHU BARK as a tribute to Sam Neill. He was an enthusiastic animal lover and advocate for the protection of Aotearoa’s wilderness. We feel that he would really love this!

A film by Taika Waititi. Based on the book Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump, Hunt for the Wilderpeople tells the story of Ricky (Julian Dennison), a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle (Sam Neill) in the New Zealand bush. A national manhunt ensues, forcing the pair to put aside their differences and work together. PAHU BARK is a nonprofit based in Ferry Landing, New Zealand. Dedicated to helping dogs. The founder also trains her own pound rescues in conservation mahi. They organise weekly micro-donations to support various animal rescues across the country. Something a bit different this morning. A boat was heading into the harbour from Whau River mouth leaving a V-shaped wake behind. Also, I'm so glad I learnt the putting phone against window trick to avoid reflections, which I wasn't able to do to get a photo of the sunrise over Auckland CBD. #publicTransport #Auckland #TamakiMakaurau #bus #somethingBeautiful #aucklandscenes

🇳🇿 Global mass #transit operator Kinetic has secured all four contract units in #Auckland Transport’s Tranche 3 bus services tender, worth NZD755 million, marking its largest contract in Auckland. Three central units will run for 11 years and the eastern unit for 8.6 years. Kinetic will invest more than NZD121 million in new zero-emission buses and depot upgrades, including expanded charging infrastructure and a second overhead gantry charging system at its City depot. In total, 201 zero-emission buses will operate under the contract, with 125 entering service in 2027. A record 165 electric buses will begin operating from the first day of central services in July 2027, the largest initial rollout in New Zealand. Eastern services will start in December 2026.
