Following up on today’s discussion about rabbitty pedicures ;) here’s a tip I learned a few years ago…. Use a piece of sturdy netting to keep your bunny’s foot fur out of the way while you trim their nails. In the States, bags made out of netting are commonly used to package heavy produce, such as onions or sweet potatoes. If you’re interested, but you live in a country which doesn’t use this stuff, let me know. I could mail you a piece 🤗 It’s great, especially for big furry squirmy buns! Bramble and Benny both had their day of beauty this morning without any bloodshed. But I am glad they are not closely related to octopuses (or octopi). 🐾 #bunnies #rabbits #pedicure

We had a good day: We had a chat with someone about https://www.belpercommunityenergy.org.uk/ where they are doing quite a few feasibility studies around Belper to find places to put wind, solar and water power. We had some nice food for lunch, and I had a very nice #cider from "Three Cats Cider, Morley" (they don't seem to have a web site). We listened to a couple of talks too. Once was from the Trent Rivers Trust (https://www.trentriverstrust.org/) talking about changes that could be made on the Derwent and Trent rivers to get them in a better condition. Later on we listened to a talk by someone from the Ethical Consumer Magazine about #degrowth, followed by a discussion in small groups. The speaker recommended https://explore.degrowth.network/ to find out more. She also mentioned the Wellbeing Economy Alliance (https://weall.org/) and a book called Radical Abundance. I assume it's this one: https://guardianbookshop.com/radical-abundance-9780745351353/ but there are several called that, but I assume it's not about "nanotechnology" (which is another book of the same name!). We took a couple of #rabbits with us for the day out, and they seem to approve of Belper grass, as we saw both of them nibbling on it when we sat down for lunch 😀 We also met some friends who we'd not seen for a long time, which was nice! The weather kept dry too, which was a bonus! I also bought a couple of #vegan pies to eat next week :)

More squirrel vs rabbit shenanigans. The vast majority of the time, it's the squirrels that are the aggressors. Hello fellow #RabbitsOfMastodon ! This is Newton and Snowy reporting back from our day out in the garden. We had fun exploring, although the humans picked us up and scraped fur off us and clipped our nails with torture devices for a few minutes, but we survived and we have nice and smooth fur now :/ One of the neighbourhood squirrels came to see what we were doing, but he kept his distance. We are now back inside and relaxing after our busy day eating plants and looking cute. It's a hard life being a rabbit.... #Rabbits #Squirrel

Checked last night’s trail cam footage. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry 😭. Cuteness overload but how will I ever grow any veg 😭. I think I’ll go for sheer quantity and hope for the best. Though maybe I’ll get stuck in a bunny doom loop - the more I grow the more bunnies there are. They are so lovely to watch though. They were playing around outside the greenhouse as I pricked out rainbow chard seedlings. Sigh. These are smaller even than lil bun. #rabbits
